Hey Guys

I have a 2008 XC90 3.2AWD

I need to replace the front Engine Mount and the top Torque Rod.

I was checking on ebay an Engine Mount set Protier Industries Brand

Right now, I can't spend much and it is impossible to me to buy the OEM Volvo ones. Just a few day ago I replace the Radiator and Radiator fan. I used TYC brand and spend a lot...... And there I saw the Front Engine mount is shot. 😰

Please let me know if you have use aftermarket or this Protier Industries Brand engine mounts and whats your experience and how long they lasted.

Thx & Rgds

Isaac

I've personally never heard of this brand. I try to not buy non-original brand parts on eBay for my Volvos.. especially if it's pertaining to engine or mechanical components (cosmetic or parts like mirrors or something, sure).
I do recommend Volvo Engine Mount Kit - Hutchinson KIT-522297 since they'll warrantee parts sold by them for life.

What online places ship to you in Panama?

I bought an off-brand rear motor mount, and the thing looked just fine. A year later, it had leaked out the cushion fluid and I bought OEM afterwards. The correct one is $120, these days, so the lifetime replacement policy is worthwhile, if you can get it. Returning for credit could pose a cost barrier, unless the Postal method works. USPS has a reciprocal deal with other countries that doesn't add postage costs once the package is here.
The engine mounts aren't what I would call a "long-life" item regardless of manufacture. Interesting that FCP only offers the left side Hutchinson for my 3.2, now. I guess offering free replacement on other brands is not economically viable. I've read that they have sold ProPartsSweden, in the past.

Then like mentioned here, go for Hutchinson. Since shipping and time takes longer, don’t go for cheap.

Hey Turbo_Boss,

Pretty much what everyone else said here - if you can afford it, FCP Euro or IPD is the way to go with the warranties, especially if you want to do it once. With that said, I'm in a similar position to you where getting things shipped to me (especially genuine stuff) is quite cost prohibitive due to being in NZ with a Jap Spec Car, to the point where since I do almost all the work myself, it's considerably more economical to grab an aftermarket part (specific brands only however, as the majority are Chinese Counterfeit), where I can replace the part 2 or 3 times before we reach the genuine prices, although that would be rather inconvenient having to do said replacements.

Re the part you've got above however, I wouldn't risk it - my money is on it failing within about 6 months - 1 year maximum. If you've got an OEM Part Number, you could try have a look on cars245.com - they're Latvian based but I've had many excellent experiences with them. I'd only really buy an OEM, SWAG or Febi Bilstein part though - give or take the rest I wouldn't trust for the most part. There are a couple of other good brands, but normally they only make very specific products so not really worth listing them all.

I tried with Anchor mounts and had to redo the job with Hutchinson. The Anchor mounts had bad vibrations. The Hutchinson mounts had the Volvo logo scratched off and fixed my vibration issues.
When the time comes, I'll use Hutchinson again!
