Bluepower looks good, but for nearly 800 beaver pelts it's a on the steep side.

I'm no stranger to the solder, what information do you have on the Kenwood Setup?
Metra 70-9221 harness
Scosche VO4152B dash kit
Scosche VOAB antenna adapter
Kenwood of your choice

You will need a steering wheel/reverse camera adapter. I run my own Arduino based, but I think Axxess makes one.

GitHub - vtl/volvo-kenwood: Volvo steering wheel buttons interface for Kenwood head unit - the simplest adapter
GitHub - vtl/volvo-ddd at teensy - Teensy 4.0 version of the original and much more expensive Arduino DUE version that I have now. I even made a few PCB boards, but haven't finished everything. If you dare =)

I used the crux harness that includes steering wheel controls and the Metra dash kit and Metra antenna adapter (I did lose AM radio) for my 07. I run an alpine ilx W650. Pretty straight forward quality radio.

I’d buy one you know has been repaired. Or temp in a unit until you can send yours to get fixed.

Or get the Atoto and see how you like it. You can get the whole setup (radio, Metra harness, Metra dash kit) under $200 I believe. And I have the kit laying around for conversion for the amp since I got mine used from someone that had an HU 850 that I’d be more than willing to sell to you at a heavy discount

I'm very skeptic of those cheap Androids. What I ended with in my old Volvo is better than premium multi-$k sounds in wife's ex-Volvo (H&K) and her current Sequoia (JBL). It only gives up to a big stationary JBL unit we have by the fireplace. Of course I had to replace the white label speakers to unfold all the capabilities and add a center channel, but that was totally worth it. I would absolutely do it again.

Ended up going with a JVC KW-M560BT along with the crux wiring interface, scosche dash kit, and a reverse camera. The installation of the HU was quite easy, the wiring harness makes it a breeze and everything works well for the most part. I'm missing the center speaker as the HU doesn't have a center channel. The steering wheel controls work, but I can only control a third of the volume range and to increase beyond that I have to use the HU. When I purchased the HU I didn't realize that android auto was wired, I just assumed it would be wireless so now I'll need to purchase an adapter for the USB. Minor annoyance as I normally have the phone charging while in the vehicle anyways, but wireless is so much nicer.

The biggest pain was routing and installing the reverse camera, getting the wire fished through the hatch harness is something that I don't want to do again, so I left a pull string in just incase there's ever another reason. I placed the camera on the inside of the hatch just under the third brake light. There is a slight blind spot where I can't see the bumper or the trailer hitch, but it's small enough that you can comfortably gauge distance and I prefer the high up view vs down at road level.

Overall I'm quite happy with it. The loss of the center channel is something I may try to fake to get it back. I also discovered that the driver's side speaker is blown, only getting the mid out of it.

Get Focal ISS/ICU, they are very nice.

For center channel. Stereo->mono mixer:

I threw it under the seat.

You will also need a ground loop noise insulator, both for power and signal. They are cheap and plenty on Amazon.

New canoe?
Double loaded. 😃

I've had the 16' Green canoe for a few years now. Bought it used in June 2021. It's Kevlar/carbon fiber. Weighs 36lbs with a capacity of 1100lbs. I'd prefer something smaller for solo trips, but is perfect for tandem trips.

I've had it out in some big wind and waves, does better loaded down. I'll sometimes load it with stones in the bow to shift the center of gravity low and forward to cut through the waves, maintain stability, and makes it easier to correct while paddling.
