I wonder if these blocks can be used with a floor jack on the factory jack spots. I would assume its safe.
That's what they're actually intended for, floor jacks. Most are round, I wanted square ones for use with the QuickJack.

Picked mine up today.

They were sold out at all the Costco's in Ottawa, had to head over the river to Gatineau, Quebec.

Bonus, they were further reduced to C$799 (just over US$600) [emoji23]

Only 4 left...

having a wide open area to slide our heads under without worrying about backing into a jackstand was nice.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like 4 jack stands are less to work around than having all that structure on both sides of the car. 'Course, everyone knows you can't teach an old dog new tricks! (Especially if it costs $600.)

If I had to, I could have my XC90 well off the ground and on four 3-ton Esco jack stands in under 10 minutes without rushing.

XC90's are bleeding heavy. Mine says 6080lbs in the door jamb.

Costco in U.S. has different item number and it us only $1,099.99 delivered.

I tried at a store. Only in a warehouse, not in a store. Before someone beats me up I know the stores are warehouses. So it is only from a warehouse to the warehouse that we can get one from Costco.

You are better than I am at jacking up the car. Two jackstands is easy. four with the car leaning and pivoting on just the jackstands scares the shyt out of me every time. And like when I use the spring compressor, every time I do I swear to myself never again. Until next time. A quickjack would have been nice in a fw weeks when I do the motor mounts on the V8 S80. I could easily raise and lower the car as needed when I hook up the cross bar to hold the motor etc.

Sure that 6080 isn't GVWR? Sounds high for curb weight...

Costco.ca has them for C$1299 delivered. There seemed to be some urgency to clear out stock from the stores...

Agreed. No way I could do it in 10 minutes. I have same concern when doing third stand etc.

I'll try and get the QuickJack assembled and tested in a couple weeks. I've got a pile of more urgent projects to sort out prior. Big one is painting the garage. Just had it drywalled and getting insulation blown in ceiling next week... Temps are dropping so I need to get it done asap.

We did it real slow following the directions. It is pretty easy. Once done you realize how simple it is. After the initial setup it is easy to just hook or unhook the two hoses by the four connectors.

Curb weight isn't listed anywhere on any vehicle. You're looking at GVWR, which isn't the same thing. The only thing that states a specific vehicle's curb weight is the Certificate of Title that new car dealers get when the vehicles are delivered from the factory. That certificate is used to apply for a title from the state or province, and the exact curb weight is required for classification purposes.

So, if you buy a new vehicle, and want to know that vehicle's exact curb weight, ask the dealer if they have a copy of the Certificate of Title on file, as it'll be listed on it.

Thanks for the correction! My soul feels better knowing I'm not driving a 6,000lb vehicle. :)

To be fair, my 10 minutes starts with my jack, jackstands, and creeper next to the vehicle.

Jacking the front crossmember gets the front two wheels off the ground. Slide the stands in place. With the chassis supported, the XC90 is rigid enough that the whole rear end will lift up from jacking just one rear control arm. Not evenly..... but darn close. So jack one rear control arm, place one rear stand. Rinse and repeat on the other side.

I blogged it, here:

Takes me less than a minute to get the XC90 up in the air.
My roof trusses were low so I spoke to my architect and he did me drawings to allow me to cut the joists and allow me enough height to raise the cars

Now, now. It's not a race ;)

Great setup though and I expect you can park a car beneath as well :D

If I had the extra height and resources, I'd love to have a 2 or 4 post lift. But, for the current situation, I think I'll be quite satisfied with the QuickJack. I'll post up more once I get a chance to test it out.

Thanks. Pretty much how I jack up the 128. The 128 has a pad on the front crossmember for the jack. I will try that with the S80 in a few weeks when I attempt to change the motor mounts. I have to first figure out where to hang the motor from. I have the engine support bar.

QuickJack in use with an XC90 V8. Did a tire rotation today.

Finally got QuickJack assembled. Stoked.

It was mentioned in a review I watched, car moves forward as it raises. Need to ensure there's clearance up front. Especially if raise lower a few times as I was...

Going to order the SUV adapter kit as well I think. I'm not a fan of the stacked blocks...

Realizing I didn't update this thread...

I purchased some pinch weld blocks but they were too finicky to place correctly at each of the four jack points.

Currently just using the QuickJack SUV adapters. They work very well.

So pleased with the setup [emoji41]
