If I had to, I could have my XC90 well off the ground and on four 3-ton Esco jack stands in under 10 minutes without rushing.

XC90's are bleeding heavy. Mine says 6080lbs in the door jamb.

Curb weight isn't listed anywhere on any vehicle. You're looking at GVWR, which isn't the same thing. The only thing that states a specific vehicle's curb weight is the Certificate of Title that new car dealers get when the vehicles are delivered from the factory. That certificate is used to apply for a title from the state or province, and the exact curb weight is required for classification purposes.

So, if you buy a new vehicle, and want to know that vehicle's exact curb weight, ask the dealer if they have a copy of the Certificate of Title on file, as it'll be listed on it.
Thanks for the correction! My soul feels better knowing I'm not driving a 6,000lb vehicle. :)

You are better than I am at jacking up the car. Two jackstands is easy. four with the car leaning and pivoting on just the jackstands scares the shyt out of me every time. And like when I use the spring compressor, every time I do I swear to myself never again. Until next time. A quickjack would have been nice in a fw weeks when I do the motor mounts on the V8 S80. I could easily raise and lower the car as needed when I hook up the cross bar to hold the motor etc.
To be fair, my 10 minutes starts with my jack, jackstands, and creeper next to the vehicle.

Jacking the front crossmember gets the front two wheels off the ground. Slide the stands in place. With the chassis supported, the XC90 is rigid enough that the whole rear end will lift up from jacking just one rear control arm. Not evenly..... but darn close. So jack one rear control arm, place one rear stand. Rinse and repeat on the other side.

I blogged it, here:

Thanks for the pics!

The instant we move to a new house with a bigger garage, I'm buying a QuickJack.
