Just a quick check in to swedespeed. We're currently at the Radisson Blu. Delivery is tomorrow morning. Weather was great today. Sunday in Stockholm, on the hand, had just about everything: snow, rain, hail, and a little bit of sun for an hour or two just before sunset. Two days in the books and the trip has been enjoyable so far. But tomorrow's the big day.

Yep. Just got back late last night. Definitely a great trip. An adventure at times, but great nonetheless. I'm not a great storyteller, so I doubt I'll post as extensive of a travel log as others have. But I'm going to try to put something together to share.

Pick up V60cc May 15

We p/u our v60 cc May 15. Plan two nights in Gothenburg, drive to Stockholm for four nights, Travel down to Copenhagen With one night enroute so far undecided. 5 nights in Copenhagen then back to Gothenburg to drop off car and head home on the 30th. We have three nights after Copenhagen and plan to head back towards Gothenburg.
Does this sound feasible?

That sounds *very* feasible. Consider going to Ystad to see Ales Stenar (Al's Stones -- a Stonehenge) or up to the MacBeth Castle or Odense where Hans Christen Anderson was born or Roskilde for Viking Ships and the Cathedral where Danish kings and queens are buried or ...

Depends on the kind of traveler you are. For us hotels are a place to sleep, not spend time. We had reservations at the beginning and end, the others were made that day before we left the current hotel or we'd stop mid-afternoon at a McD's with wifi to make reservations.

Thanks. Planning to head to Macbeth castle after Copenhagen then ferry back to Sweden. Assume this is a car ferry.
We leave Vancouver May 11 stopping in Reykjavik for two nights before heading to Gothenburg. Six months is a long wait but the planning and anticipation certainly compensates.

We also took a long time, fully 10 months from first serious visit to dealer to delivery (April 17, coming up on two years, wow).

Was the best car purchase process ever!

Yes, we took the car ferry between the two Helsing* (Helsingnor Denmark and Helsingborg Sweden). Easy to deal with.

Was actually asked about my license plates by (I assume) Customs in Sweden as we came off the boat. I replied that they were on the car when I picked it up in Gothenburg a few weeks prior... Didn't ask for passport or anything.
