I’m in 5.29.1 without a problem so it must be just the app version.

 

I have 5.30.0 and same thing happened to me today. I confirmed that I have the setting turned on within the centre console in the car.

Major bug in 5.30.0. Stay away if you don’t have it already.

Same here with my 2019 S60… it’s at the dealer so I can’t confirm that the box is checked, but I’ve never had this issue before either.

That's what my screen looks like too. I'm certain your box is checked too, just like mine is. Otherwise the prior version wouldn't have had functionality either.

 

Hopefully they get it fixed ASAP. Luckily my work phone doesn’t auto update apps so I can still access it using the last version of the app.

My update added an extra button. A lightning ⚡ icon for charging. 😂 I have a T6.

 

Deleted and downloaded the app. Now I only have 2 buttons. Lock and climate. No air purification anymore. And they want money for this app after 4 years?? Seriously?

 

I really hope that’s a bug because the release notes say it only contains bug fixes and stability improvements. I never had air purification as an option (sounds cool) but did lose the function to ventilate the car instead of starting it a while back in one of the updates with no notice. And no price reduction with the reduced functionality…

Apple Watch support has returned with this update for cars running on Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS)!!!

 

I can’t find this function on my Rolex and it was more expensive than the Apple watch.

I never had air purification as an option (sounds cool) but did lose the function to ventilate the car instead of starting it a while back in one of the updates with no notice. In my 2021 XC90 I had the unlock/lock, remote start, vent without starting the engine and air purifier. They got rid of the vent and now the air purifier? I’m glad that this is specifically bug fixing update. 😁 I hope that Volvo fires the app developer.

 

FWIW, I upgraded to 5.30.0 on my iPhone 14 and didn't experience any problem. everything is working the same as before.

 

What iOS do you use? I have iOS 17b7.

Someone suggested deleting app and reinstalling. Just did that and everything is working

1. Updated to Volvo Cars iOS App to 5.30.0 yesterday with no issue and no “limited functionality” message.

2. Accessed Volvo App on Apple Watch. App verified that iPhone was nearby. Prompted to open Volvo App on iPhone which I did.

3. Apple Watch app updates and correctly indicates:
* fuel status miles remaining and visual percentage
bar

• hybrid battery status and visual percentage bar
• door lock/unlock status
• climate status
• engine status
• profile

4. Looking forward to CarPlay updates this Fall

I had the same issue. Deleted the app and reinstalled it. That worked for me!

 

have been experiencing the same issue since the latest app update. Have not changed any of the car/phone settings. It most certainly a s/w bug in my view.

 

Update: have followed the advice of others and deleted and reinstalled the app, and now works fine(ish). No range data on the opening screen any more…
Volvo, please get your act together, this is very embarrassing.

 

All I can say is I'm glad they use Apple as a beta test platform

I had that happen to me yesterday. I just had uninstalled it and reinstalled the app and working fine now

Same thing happened to me, I just deleted the app and reinstalled it. Seems to be working now.

 

Likewise, did the delete & reinstall. Functions normally again. I’ve had this happen on other apps, so not unique to Volvo On Call. Probably needed to clear some sort of cache memory and this is the easiest way to do so.

 

Just a thought, since it's basically a computer, after the upgrade, try restarting your phone. That works wonders with many devices.
