VIDA expiration 123117 ?

Assume other folks are seeing this, license file in the 2013D patch is set as subscriptionExpireDate="2027-12-31 23:59:59", getting countdown now. 2011D is the same thing, at least the one I'm looking at. Who smart knows how to edit the license file in the patch executable? Can see the license file information if you change the .exe to .rar and re-open.

I'll probably figure this out at some point but wanted to give folks the head's up as this is what I've been seeing since yesterday and it's not the first time this has come up. If someone knows how to do it, please assist.

Thanks

Yep, getting the same on my 2014B version and interested in the solution as well. Thanks for starting the thread!

Maybe someone can translate it into an easier step by step for those of us who those words don't mean much to.
Just run the corresponding patch above. Or open the exe file in winrar and edit the license file with a text editor. IE: notepad. Run the patch again. The ones linked above are edited to 2030.

No problem! Although I simply copied the links from a post on the volvotuning.net facebook page from today. Not sure if he's on here to credit

Will not work for me, I'm at 2011 and 2013. Have tried repeatedly in editing the license file, easy to modify and looks like I save but will not save in the just opened .rar location. Cannot do on desktop then drop/replace in the .rar, cannot do in place with any number of editors (Atom, ResourceHacker, Notepad,Visual Studio) and get it integrated in the .rar (and eventually into the .exe). Sure I'm missing something but until I can do 2011 and 2013 license edits and save in the executable, I'll be at a pause. If someone can do a quick/dirty description on how to do this change, I for one would appreciate it. Thanks

Is the patch only for 2014D? I have a corrupted 2014D disk that came with my DiCE (the part3.rar file, specifically), so I stayed with the 2014B version I got a while back.

The downloads in the above post will only work for 2014D. The license file is different for each release.
Before finding this thread, I fixed my 2014A installation by using WinRar to extract 3 files out of the original patch executable.
A windows batch file called filldb.cmd
An SQL command file called filldb.sql
the VIDA license file called license

These need to be copied into a new directory called 'patch' in the VIDA home directory (normally C:\VIDA\).
You then edit the license file in Notepad and search for 'subscriptionExpireDate', you will find a date after it ("2017-12-31 23:59:59"). Change the year to whatever you want (within reason) and save the file.

Stop the VIDA service from the task bar by right clicking on the icon and selecting Stop, and run the filldb.cmd command file (preferably from a command line window while in the C:|VIDA\patch directory). This then creates an SQL command file to write the data from the license file into VIDA's SQL database and runs it using the MS SQL command line.

Restart the VIDA service by right-clicking on the task bar icon, and once it's status shows as 'Running' try starting and logging in to VIDA All In One. The expiry warning should have gone.

I was lucky that I still had the original patch executable I had run when I installed 2014A. To do any of the above you need the patch executable that matches your version.

I have 2013A and it worked right away for me. Rebooted several times, and also hooked it up to two of my cars. Everything worked as it should. I don't know why and I'm not going to dig around trying to figure it out ... "if it ain't broke don't fix it"! :)

I have a really, really clean load of Vida as of a few months ago. I had loaded the web-based version from volvotechinfo to disable the drl's on my S40 and took the chance on leaving my 2013A on the laptop. I was able to buy and load my software just fine but my 2013A wouldn't work afterwards, so I basically removed everything, and I mean everything, and started over.

I took the original 2013D patch, changed exe to rar, extracted license, modified expiration date to 2030 (for consistency's sake), dropped back into rar, changed back to exe and ran patch on a halted VIDA, just to be sure. Restarted the PC just for the heck of it (did a new installation for 2013D) and VIDA is working fine now. Did a copy of the 2011D patch same way in place, working fine as well. Have an old copy of WinRAR on the XP laptop I'm using to make the changes, that seems to be the ticket for pulling license from the exe/rar and being able to put it back after editing.

Thanks to all for the assistance, and especially to atraudes for catching it so quickly. Few mentions of the 123117 expiration over the last few months on various Volvo centric forums, but nothing that stuck out in my mind so I was surprised like everyone else.

Thanks as well to TGO and buzby for the advice, winRAR (not WinZip) seems to be key here if you're modifying the patch executable and re-running.

Nice ggleavitt. Good grief ... I was having mild flashbacks of Y2K there for a while this afternoon lol. I would be lost without my Vida. Thanks for starting this thread.

Must have done my 2011D after 4PM Pacific, both were already dead. For 2011D, user name would be entered but would kick back out to login screen. For 2013D, keyboard entries would not show on user name.

Both versions work fine after the change, re-started after the patch just to play it safe and so far so good, 4748 more days to go !

Patch just worked for me. Saved my a**! Low temp in PA caused immobilizer lockout and needed vida to clear it.
