Hi Everyone,

My name is Shawn, and I live in the Bay area CA. I have a 06 S60R M66 no sunroof, Gobi.
Always wanted to do a build thread, been procrastinating. This is my second-year ownership of the M66 R, which is also my first and only car. Meet a lot of great people in the community and become close friends with them. I hope to make our community bigger and better. Spent a lot of blood, tears, and money on it, but I will not let it slide and from now on I will start posting and sharing my build here, hopefully, it can help some of you cut some corners and not waste your money. : )

Here are some picture when I first got her:

Looks awesome - but you only used three flying stacks of $$$ - your list of mods is likely far more than that!! :) Any plans for a dyno test? Thx for sharing.

Time for new update xd
Got this bad boy for a good price. Full set with rotors and brake line off of v60 polestar.

decide to paint it white since I can’t find the right polestar gold on the newer one. Eventually gonna paint them yellow or gold. Ran down to Autozone and grabbed some white engine enamel paint, high temperature primers and high temp clear coats. Got my buddy to make the stickers as well, turns out great.

Test fit went great, but need to enlarge the two bolt holes in the steering knuckle where the caliper mounting bolts go to, on the p2 is M12, but the bracket on the 6 piston Brembo are M14. Took me a long time to find the right drill bit, broke a couple of them, but eventually got it works.

For drill bit, I would recommended using some extra strength drill bit like Cobalt 14.5mm, and start from a smaller drill bit and work your way up, also you need a strong power drill, I broke a snap on one while I did it which delay the process quite a bit.

Also the IPD Stainless Steel Brake line works with the 6 pistons as well, no issues at full turn.

After some back and forth, the brakes are finally on and operating. Flashed the system, and drove about a months, been having some issue of spongy pedal feeling, which is not right, suspected the master cylinder was too small or need upgrade. Ended up being one of the rotor head was bended (potentially during shipping), which mean is not sitting straight, which lead to the partial of the rotor ring would touch the brake pad while rotating without applying brakes.
Got some old rotor head and solve the problem. Bleed the system about 3-4 times in 3 weeks, now it’s firm and nice.

Honestly is hard to tell the difference compare to the oem 4 piston, but they are indeed insanely beautiful to look at.

The only bad thing with big brake kit and 18” of wheel was the possibility of a rock getting into the wheel barrel and squeeze between the barrel and the brake is high, which happened to me while logging.

Scratch the TE and the caliper, luckily it wasn’t too bad. Haha oh well, i guess the paint is starting to pill off now really need powder coat soon

Very nice, car looks great! And holy crap you're running 265s!? I feel like I barely turn my car with 245s, I can't imagine what you go through with 265s lol

I were able to get the headliner out from the rear driver door, I do recommend either folding the front seat all the way or take the front seat out to get more clearance.
I used the 3M adhesive spray, you would at least need 2 cans of these, highly recommend 3 cans so you don’t have to worry about running out. There are plenty of tutorials online, you can simply followed any of them. Shoutout to my buddy Daniel Elias for the help and the YouTube tutorials.

I did not remove my old headliners just because it was not sagging at all, however removing the old headliner would be the best way to do it.

I also painted all the upper plastic parts, including interior lighting trims, four handle, B pillars and it’s air vents, C pillars, three headliner clips in the back and the sun visors.
I would probably have a upholstery shop redone the sun visors later, but for now, the black paint works just fine.

The paint I used was : Dupli Color Vinyl & Fabric Flat Black

Image

Simply clean every parts before applying paint, I did not apply plastic adhesive promoter just because I was lazy and my local auto shop doesn’t have them in stock. Plastic adhesive promoter can help secure the paint, would recommend that if you have the option.
