Climbing a 14er early tomorrow so I need to sleep in the S40. How would you go about this?

I'm 5'10".

Passenger seat recline, across the backseat, fold seats and put feet in the trunk?

Honestly, I’ve slept in mine before. Mine is the real leather and the seats are so comfortable, I find that I can put it all the way back and recline comfortably and still stretch out enough to get comfortable. I’m 6’4.

EDIT: I didn’t really explain myself too well. Just recline all the way back, move the seat as far back as possible, and you can still sleep very comfortably. Trunk opening and back seat are too small to effectively use as a bed.

Just went outside to test out what works best in my car. I'm 5' 9" and I like reclining the front seat all the way back, getting it as close to horizontal as possible. I didn't like the sleeping position in the back seat as you can't stretch-out. Reclining the back seat forward with legs in the trunk didn't provide enough room to stretch out for me.

Back in my youth I had an 87 Saab 900. Folding the rear seat forward gave you a flat surface with plenty of room to sleep. Since it was a hatchback, you could look up and view the stars with a special someone. < THAT, ladies and gentlemen, I did many times.

Slept in mine a few times behind gyms and in between shifts - 6'1" - back seats down all day, throw a folded up comforter or gym mat over them with your favorite blanket and hang a copy of your concealed carry license on the window! keep the creeps away. Needless to say always park in a well lit or cc monitored spots when sleeping in your car with the windows covered. i have barely legal tint - with a sun visor up you cant see in the car at all.

for a nap, I recline the front seat. I haven't tried it yet but I would go for back seats down and sprawl into the trunk for longer, deep sleep.

The V50's passenger seat folds *forward* to a nearly flat position. Acres of space available. The latches aren't present on the S40 however.

So I ended up removing the headrests, lifting up the seat bottoms and folding the rear seats down. When you do that the rears fold flat. Slight difference in height between the trunk so I added a folded blanket. Then placed a camping mat and sleeping bag diagonally, putting my feet in the trunk. Not the best sleep but I'd do again if I had to.
