As the song says, "I done run through 'em all". I considered some of these when I was looking. The ones I looked at had some kind of issue that took them out of the running.
There are some good ones out here, but a lot more turkeys. And prices for good ones are high.
I ended up shipping one in from NY. Crazy but true.

The first '98 is pretty attractive. Must have done that chocolate dash and wheel himself, or would that be a factory thing?
The black 2000 has been up for months. That is probably the third ad for it. It has an accident on Carfax. I never looked at it personally, but for those miles at that price, I'm thinking there are more problems than meet the eye. Otherwise it would be gone.

I think the silver 2000 with the blown HG could possibly be a deal. If you did it yourself, you'd have a VR for peanuts. Even if you paid for it, you could end up having one for the low $3000's.

That laser looks nice but 5k - is that right with 225? Chicagon_wagon can't find one near him. This one isn't any closer than the one that was in Florida.

#7 · (Edited)
Lasers are not going to pop up in most backyards. If you really want one you will have to jump on the good ones. I can't say that I have seen one in DC area for a long time. There was one that used to live in Tenleytown just off River Rd.

#8 ·
I like that. And I believe the mileage. My 93 year old Gma who died late last year had an 04 Accord with something like 23k. It was perfect.

This stupid thing is still on the market. Jared and I went to the library last month to meet up with our laptops look at potential buys, and I skipped out of work early and had my mom take me all the way to Hough's Neck to look at it, I saw this and was very excited -- only to find out it was at some stupid gas station ran by idiots who were trying to pawn this off to say it would "pass inspection" knowing full well it was riddled with codes, unregistered and would not pass inspection because the airbag sensors were screwy amongst other problems I'm sure. Waste of time and a total letdown, why can't people be honest in their listings? I was pissed. Also it had a ton of scratches on it.

A white and pretty 09 v8 XC90 for 8K, 144K miles
https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ctd/6069224504.html

A manual and CLEAN white 79 245DL for 3900, 195K.
Polestar v60 in one pic
https://york.craigslist.org/cto/6068069160.html

An 04 Ruby XC70 which looks clean (one pic only) for 4k.
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/6037266619.html

A complete and fair looking 91 740 wagon (black/tan) for 800 bucks.
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/6066607310.html

A decent looking but troubled 04 2.5t AWD s60 for 800 bucks, 218K. "Needs MAF sensor". Um, yeah - probably more. New tires on thors.
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/6067152064.html

A 2010 V8 s80 in blue and off white, 140K. Seems too good to be true. 5500 bucks. Rough location potentially.

Man prices on P3 S80s are absolutely tanking right now. It must be the SPA effect. I'm seeing a shocking number of XC90s in the wild and am starting to see a few V90XCs and S90s, too.

If this trend continues, I might end up snagging one for my future winter ride, although the salvage title M66 P2R idea would probably still be more fun ;).

#23 ·
Yeah that would be pretty sweet, too, although, for a winter car, I'm really not worried about how it looks nearly as much as I am what happens when some moron with bald all seasons slides down a hill through 3 red lights or something.

Haven't seen this color combo on an XC70 before. Also has Bi-Xenons. Seems like it could be a good deal?
https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/6070069107.html

I mean it's a clean car, but this guy really needs to lay off the crack
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/cto/6070147729.html
Oh that is hilarious - over 200K miles, delaminated door panels, GLT not T5, evap. code (meaning it won't pass emissions), that is CP all the way! In my area, he'd be doing really well just to get $3K out of it and it would probably actually sell for around $2K.

1998 V70R Saffron/black, lots of IPD parts, 243K miles, $2500:

https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/6069852922.html

Nice Saff for $2500, looks pretty straight. Interior needs luv, but it's a 20 yr old car, so the wear is fairly average

1998 V70R Silver/black, new tires, 180K miles, $4K:

https://salem.craigslist.org/cto/6069440317.html

Pics sell, people just don't seem to get that. Three mediocre shots from basically the same angle, and one long-distance opposite side shot. NO interior pics. WTF?
2000 V70 R Venetian/2 Tone 187k $3500

https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/6070475569.html

Oh yes please
Not bad, looks like it's "all there". Interior needs a little TLC. I'm a little corn-fused by his compression comment - maybe he's trying to say it runs the same comp as a 2000 XC, which I'm not sure is true.
I didn't think I would like Venetian that much, but it grows on you.

^ that is border line scrap lol. Even for a laser. Hate to say. Needs a full top end rebuild which isn't bad but then the trans and then the interior. Can't find tan p80 R interior pieces. Good luck with that. Maybe swap to charcoal. Those are even hard to find in half decent shape.

Not sure I'd quite call it scrap, but I agree that it's pretty bad off. Sub-$1k is a fair price. If I bought it, I'd go straight to a B5254T2 and a M66. There is no point in rebuilding any of this stuff that comes with it when there are better replacement options out there. I know where there's a two tone interior, too, so I'd just go that route because two tone is the best, anyway.

It would be easier to swap it to strait black and assemble the R bits over time. Buy a crunched XC, swap everything. Its worth at best $500.

1999 V70R auto, 191K, Black/Charcoal, Gurnee (Chicagoland), IL

http://www.gurneehyundai.com/used/Volvo/1999-Volvo-V70-a6a088360a0e0a6b12046eb881f55ce3.htm

I know we kicked this one around a couple weeks ago, but they now have a full set of pics up, and really, it actually looks decent - especially for the money (I'm betting they're squishy on the price).
I'm guessing they just didn't want to give it away for a salvage price at auction. Except for the black wheels (not a fan), it's not half-bad.
Clean Carfax, and apparently babied up until ~80K. Then, no records for the last 10 years and 100K miles. Nothing on 'myCarfax', either.

2005 V70R GT, 111K, Silver/Gobi, Federal Way (Seattle), WA

It's NOT A TUNA!!! It's a decent-looking P2VR, fairly low miles. Seats are a little baked, reconditioning is in order. Strictly NW car, so little-to-no salt.
Good pricing. Retail-chain maintenance, but better than no maintenance at all.
Seahawks emblazoning adds 10 hp., but only on game day.https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/6070081879.html

I think we did this one already... Well, we know it ain't Barents, so it would be Magic. Going by the pics, wow, is it clean.
Clean Carfax. Going roughly by my own Price X Miles calculation, it seems like a good deal.http://www.livermorehonda.com/used/Volvo/2006-Volvo-V70-1b4b476f0a0e0a1725c5dc92c7ed94a9.htm
Carfax says it's Black Sapphire. I saw a Magic Blue this week on a nice 2007 S60 2.5T w/ the sport pkg ... neat paint, never seen it in person. The car had too many foibles however for my taste, plus the fact that it's *almost* black, and black is the anti-color in our neck of the woods, unless you like driving a kiln furnace.

I bet the PNP switch is failing. That is a steal if that's the case and it is decent otherwise.

Surprised that the daughter didn't curb the sh|t out of the Perfos given what the interior looks like.

Wow I wish I could find deals like this near me! Damn! This would have been a perfect way to score panels for my T-5R........although it is starting to look like it would have been cheaper to buy a car off of CL for $400 than taking the approach that I have taken. I need a bigger yard lol.

Wow, that got hit HARD. The way that sunroof is sitting is a lot like my red/tan R after it got hit by the front end loader.

Does Tom Long still need a hood?
