Kill Switch?

Hi fellas,
Is there an easy way to install a kill switch given the odd placement of battery (trunk).

My goal would be to make it easy for my daughter to disconnect battery before she leaves Florida for Toronto come May. Don’t care if it’s visible or not, it’s not about theft (obviously).

This would be my vote. Seems easy to do and don't need to have power to get to it through tailgate or to install that nifty 3rd row setup @vtl posted.
My buddy adds kill switches to his vehicles.
He buys a switch that has a remote to it. He connects them mostly to his 12v going to his fuel pump. The remote he keeps on his key chain. Looks like a unlock and lock remote. I think it's around $40 bucks.

The OP wants to kill the power to the entire car so the battery doesn't drain. I haven't done it, but I think only solution is to install a disconnect in the battery ground cable.

After the switch is installed, your daughter will need to prep.
1) open doors the doors and tailgate.
2) fold the front seat. See the owner's manual. It folds without requiring power.
3) fold the rear seat.
4) remove the folding rear floor.
5) remove the underfloor storage tray.
6) remove the plastic battery cover. (if it has one). It will likely need to be removed for the kill switch installation anyway.
7) lock the car.
8) use the battery kill switch.
9) shut the tailgate.

I haven't researched it lately, but the kill switches are available from many vendors. They are usually black plastic with a red key lever that can be removed for security. The key can be attached to your keyring.

Batteries located in the inside of a car last much longer. Mine was manufactured in 2/2003 and lasted until 11/2017. Beat that.

Don't know how long your daughter will be away, but letting the car sit for a month or so while connected probably won't be a problem.

Hope this helps.

I'm going to guess it's May through August/September. Regular college break for the summer.

Where in FL? Just keep it at my place. I’ll start it every week to 10 days. :)
Disclaimer: still would need wife approval.
