Grill logo removal?

Hey all. I recently purchased a MY22 XC60 B6 R-Design. I would love for the logo and "spindles" on the grill to be black instead of chrome. How do I remove it so I can do my thing? Do I have to remove the grill first? I see there are five "buttons" on the top of the grill that when removed really loosens it up, but there's something else holding it on and I'm not sure what. I found another thread on this forum about removing the grill, but it wasn't for an XC60 so it doesn't seem exactly the same.

Looking for someone that knows how I get the logo off. Thanks!

On the SPA xc90, there are tabs around the grille that you need to use trim removal tool to unlatch. I suspect it is similar with the SPA xc60. Fwiw, I took pictures of the tabs etc. for the SPA xc90, perhaps it can be useful: Front grille: disassembly and DIY (maybe)
On the 2nd page of your post...step #3...you mention a couple screws that need to be removed. I wonder if that's what I'm missing. I got all the plastic clips on the top, but something else was definitely keeping it on. Actually, now thinking about it, it was much looser after taking the clips off and I feel if there were screws still holding it on it would be tighter. So maybe it was just the tabs on the bottom in your step #4 that was what I was missing.

As far as wrapping it while still on the car, that is a possibility. I hadn't thought about that but that may work too.

Thanks everyone for the input. I will post pics if/when I get it done!

Hi instead of removing the "bar and circle" items and the whole grill, why don't you just "plastiwrap" them. You don't have to remove them and you can mask off what you don't won't covered. There is lots of info and videos re doing this. Have a look on Youtube it may save you a lot of anguish. As for the camera the way this stuff works is you spray it on and could peal it off the actual camera bit. Simple and clean with no real effort. Not sure of the cost of this stuff though, maybe the local auto shop could help you out with that. Good luck, cheers David

I cheated! For the inner "donut hole" cutout I found a food storage container in our kitchen that was the diameter I wanted and pre-cut it before applying. I then adhered it to the car and cut out the outside with a razor blade like I did the rest of it.

Good luck if you do yours...and make sure to post pics!

That looks really good! My wrap is starting to break apart near the arrow where I evidently applied too much pressure trying to get it to go into the crevices. I must have made it too thin there. I may have to order these for mine. Nice find!

Finally - Ali to the rescue! Been hunting for months - just arrived and very happy with how it looks!

Please excuse the dirty car, it's been raining! View attachment 215843

Hi guys, just bought myself a new 2024 xc60, want to black out the emblem as well. My emblem has like a plastic transparent cap over it for the extra protection. Does it come off? Or how did you wrap the emblem? Some DIY pictures or short explanation would be great. I already wanted to order a black emblem but then found this topic. Help me out guys :)
