The clutch pedal on my C30 has a strange double-action feel to it - the first inch or so feels strongly sprung, but after that something cams over or straightens out and the effort is much less. Naturally, the clutch engages right where the tension changes, meaning it wants to accelerate my foot upward at the exact point I want to slow it down for a smooth transition. The net result is a lot of lurchy shifts. Is there any way to adjust the clutch free play so that it engages lower on the pedal? On most modern cars there isn't a conventional adjustment, but is there a rod or something that could be shortened? I've even thought about introducing some air into the hydraulic system, which is probably a bad idea, but it could theoretically give me the result I want. Thoughts/ideas? The car is a 2009 R-Design.
