Discovered this huge price savings if you have an IAQS (interior air quality sensor.)

VW part # 1K0907659 ... is an exact match. Made by Paragon, with their logo on it, and just branded with VW/Audi in it instead of volvo. It'll still plug into the socket, it'll slide into the bracket that holds it, and it will work as it should. It'll also eliminate a code if you have one in your VIDA-side of things.

I got mine for $14 w/ free shipping... versus the $130-150 on most parts sites.

YOU KNOW YOU HAVE IAQS IF YOU HAVE THIS BUTTON (the auto function)...

The one I pulled from my 02 S60 2.4T, and according to VIDA should be the same sensor on all P2's and P2R's that have the IAQS...

Very good information as we have an '04 V70 and an '07 S60. Will keep this in mind if/when this sensor bites the dust!! Actually, this might be a good thing to buy and keep on hand (in case it become unavailable in the future) but I don't know how common it is for this sensor to die?

I did that 2 years ago in my 2003 S60 and it is still working.

Remember that older P2 cars (2000-2002) have differend AQS sensor (bigger and cannot be exchanged).
I should have mentioned that.

2001 and mid-year 02's may have a different sensor. But my 02, had this one.

Well the buttons are there but I ain't sure I have the sensor.According to Vida,I do! But I have been around a few foul odors and fumes in NJ,I havn't seen my recirc switch to recirculate automatically.I had the cowl off once before when I did the intake mod to keep water intrusion out of the fresh air induction hvac aystem and don't remember seeing a sensor.Sometime I will pull off the wipers and investigate it and clean out the debris in the area under the cowl. What I did notice in Vida was the 05 models have to be calibrated with software. It's a nice feature for those that ride behind assholes with modded Dodge trucks and buses.
Thanks for the tip Dave.

To make sure you’re clear... this alternative part will not work 05+... we have determined it’s an early p2 alternative only.

And I’m not sure you’d see the button change the control, it would just close the damper. And it may not close it entirely.

Not sure how different the system is from the normal ECC as I have, but for mine anyways the recirc damper has a timer function built into it as is you can activate the timer (which stays activated until you physically deactivate it). What the timer does is when you press the recirc button to turn on (closing the damper preventing outside air in) it'll remain closed for about 9-12 minutes and automatically turn off (opening the damper back up to letting in outside air). I'm not sure if the IAQS system has that same function as well when in manual mode. I also notice that some smells (skunk, and livestock if going through farm areas) will always get into the cabin even with the damper closed and I notice that it won't always filter every smell out. Thought that my damper wasn't working fully until I tested it in VIDA. I have a separate thread that I had created a month or two ago detailing this and the VIDA results. But for the IQAS folks, make sure there isn't a timer function set (if one exists) and that it isn't interfering with the operation of it. Of course if VIDA is saying something is bad, then it'll need replacing no matter what mode or setting things are in.

S60 2.4 T5 (2005)

VIDA shown my AQS sensor is permanent fault. Any cheap alternative for S60 2.4 2005?
I found a cheap(er) aftermarket replacement sensor for my 2005 S60 and made a video about it. This aftermarket sensor works as a replacement for the following factory sensors.
30676508 (I had this sensor in my car)
30780150
31250683
31250722

Have long had CCM-0021 Air quality sensor Internal fault. Going to try one of these ebay sensors with part no 1K0907659. They are all chinese, not paragon branded. I'll report back with the results.

That specific part that I tried did not work. VIDA would report back a duty cycle of 1000%.

So what’s the correct part number to order and can it be gotten on eBay?
I don’t know, yet. I’d like to find one that works but the one I tried didn’t.

How do you know if one has failed, does it throw a CEL?
No it will show up in VIDA as a DTC.

I ended up replacing my IAQS sensor with a Paragon labeled unit from a 2011-14 VW Passat I think. Ordered it from eBay. I posted it in the S80 “what have you done thread” and it functions and fit perfectly.

I can say I’m not sure of the usefulness of this function and hoped it was actually functional but I was recently behind a big rig spewing all sorts of black smoke and it stunk to high heavens. I thought the system would turn airflow off but it never did, even after me fiddling with it to make it work. I kept shutting the fresh air off and turning it to recirc after waiting for it to automatically change modes and it never did.

At least I don’t have the code on my VIDA anymore tho.

Hi did someone clean this sensor? As the only possible reason that its not working its bcs. of dust covered area as there is lot of dust dirt enter on ventilation hole. I will try to soak it in pur 75% alcohol overnight to see if we can clean sensor. Price over 200 Euro from Lolvo stealer service is esagerated and its robbery. Nothing else than robbery. If this will not work cleaning will purchase the VW model and test.
