Hey there. New to the forum.
Context: I have a 2021 XC60 D4 Inscription 8 Speed Geartronic. It’s got 52000kms on it. I do mainly highway driving, with some unsurfaced roads. I keep to the speed limit, but enjoy smooth and swift down/up shifts when overtaking.
The issue: I’m having intermittent issues with the gearbox: Specifically a seriously delayed upshift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Sometimes happens from 1st to 2nd - but I think this is a steep road issue. The delay is so pronounced, that I have time to think “what is going on?”, all while watching the speedometer stay still, before ”clunking” into 3rd. This obviously ruins acceleration performance and the driving enjoyment.
My question: Is this just a symptom of the Transverse mounted Aisen 8 speed auto? Is this a safety mechanism, when the gearbox is being pushed hard? Has anyone else experienced this and is there any solutions?
Many thanks
