Interesting thx
that one for sale has the same headlights as mine had before I swapped them out so Im guessing that was a Jap thing as well
thought maybe my paint matched mudflaps might have been another but neither the saffron or the for sale one have it done .
The headlights are something that is available aftermarket. Compared to buying the C70 convertible facelift 'jewel' headlights,
it's the cheaper option to get clear headlights on the first generation V70. They don't work that well and tend to fade fairly quickly.
Available in two versions:
- chrome (what you had)
- black

Painted mudflaps are not a factory or japanese market option on the S70/V70.
Someone might have take inspiration from the the C70 which did come with colour matched mudflaps later on.
But your car has been customised so it's highly probable that this was done by a previous owner.
Ignoring the intake, the mods seem executed well. As you noted the car has the dual exhaust although from the pictures I am questioning if it's the original MY '00 part.
But whoever installed it used the correct piece for the bumper cutout on the passenger side (RHD). Usually that is blanked and people don't install that little finishing frame.
Put new batteries in the remote and my nav system works , the loading screen comes up with Volvo then goes to Japanese writing
the screen is a bit rooted probably due to the heat generated on being on top of the dash , understandable.
if anyone has ever seen replacement screens for sale please let me know, considering she was a $5000 accessory back in the day would love to preserve it in tip top order
Your best bet would be to swap the entire assembly for a working one.
The display is backlit by a weird shape cold cathode tube. If the screen is that munted the other parts won't be far behind.
Did you get any of the navigation CDs with the car?
It would be interesting to archive the contents of those.
The data is stored in a proprietary file format called KIWI in the form of .kwi files. Not much has been done in terms of research or mods for these early Volvo systems.
