Well I worked for Volvo at the launch of P1 cars, went to Sweden for it actually, and I've owned a number of them. I know those cars inside and out. I guess we just will disagree, because trying to say those interiors are "better" is nothing but you opinion. You have never touched a EX30, so you have no idea of the quality of materials. And I think you are very much mistaken about the leather quality in a B5, as the Napa leather used is MUCH higher quality than any P1 car had unless it was an R or the very first S80s that used Bridges of Weir leather. I say this because I have 3 SPA S60s I drive all the time...Momentum, Inscription and R-Design. I find nothing cheap about the leather, and yes.....Momenutm is not leather, and many owners prefer it. Remember, BWM offers some cars that have no leather either, and you can buy a $100,000 MB GLS that has fake leather seats too.

You are welcome to your opinion, but don't make it out to be a just a fact.
The R-Design and Inscription style seats are nicer in that they have more adjustability and are softer, but the Momentum leather is really durable. And when I see the leatherette (which granted isn't very often) it holds up really well too. I'm very impressed with the Nordico samples we got ... and guess what, the steering wheels have been Nordico-covered for a couple of years already ... not leather! The tailored dash is the same.

Volvo's execution of interiors is always good - they never look cheap, even the base cloth.

First P2 was the 99 S80. P1 was 2004.5 S40.
P2 was officially launched in 1998 for the S80 reveal later going into showrooms in 1999. (Earlier debut in 1992 in the form of the ECC concept as the earliest known rendition of the P2). However there is nothing wrong with your statement the math does not add up.

Look VS Feel are two different things. I sat in a B5 XC60 just last weekend to feel the interior quality and the seats are scaly almost like reptile skin. It is a shameful attempt to mimic the characteristics of leather and feels incredibly cheap to the touch.

And again, Napa leather is not base. I could happily compare the base leatherette of a B5 XC to that of a P1 or Nedcar and would happily tell you that the quality is superior just to the fact a nedcar has REAL leather.

That being said, comparing base models to base models, a P1 has better interior quality due to the higher quality materials used, better use of an interior’s space rather than a glued on IPad and some window switches in the middle.

The seats in a Plus are real leather. Are they scaly? I guess. But durable as heck. Volvo has been using that stuff for some time now. The Nappa is like any other softer leather ... it stretches over time. The Momentum style leather (I mean the LEATHER and not the leatherette) looks really good even on high mileage trades. The leatherette tends to look good, but up here it's rare to see it.

ah yes! I forgot about the S80 :(
So did everyone else apparently. When was the last time you saw a P2 S80? They’ve basically disappeared, even compared to early P2 S60s

I don't think you really know what you are talking about. Whatever. I don't understand. R-Design or Inscription are not base? They don't offer any choices. Seems "standard" to me.

You want to talk about base? P1 and P2 cars came standard with cloth, so....... not standard leather. A B5 XC now does have leatheret, but that was a new change. For year all XC60s had leather standard, so lets get that straight. You'll note that the SPA leather wears MUCH better than the leather of the P1 or P2 cars, so some softness was traded for durablilty. I don't see that as "cheap" but offering a better product that lasts longer.

I've owned 4 P2s and driven literally thousands of them over time at work. I don't understand what part of them was "better quality interiors". That's your opinion, fine. It's not a fact. Most would disagree with you, as a SPA car has a number of higher quality components never even offered on P1 or P2.

And i'm not sure how a SPA's integrated iPad is some how "glued on" when it's fully integrated into the dash. Also, the SPA car has a MUCH better use of space, as most dimension are improved inside the cabin over previous models.

Your opinion is that....an opinion. But you are using some fake facts to create that opinion, and I think that's disingenuous to argue with fake facts.

Every S60 Momentum does NOT have leather. Starting in 2022 the rear seats are also NEVER leather in an S60. But you not even knowing the basics of what you sell is not surprising....but lets use real facts if you are going to try and argue a point......

By small I assume that's the 40 series. Two new 40 series in development as expected EX40 and EC40.

Don't think the EX30 Cross Country would count as a second model

Didn't think they would go smaller than the EX30 either as that's already pretty small as it's smaller than the C30.
