Hello guys, i am new here,
I have a 2007 xc90 and my car got stayed in heavy rain, got water from steering wheel side. My high beams don't working anymore but there isn't any problem with other electrical modules and headlights also. I checked fuses and relays but i couldn't find any problem except one important thing, i can't hear relay sound when i trigger the high beam switch and also headlights don't move up, leaving home function does not work eather.

in my opinion the steering wheel module(SWM) and light switch module(LSM) working great.

how can i test the CEM module without disassembling if there any problem with that.

i have VIDA device and strangely there is no error associated with this, i checked several times.

i am from turkey by the way so your info's so important for me, they can't handle with volvo's in our country.

The wiring is for a US spec XC90, it should be the same. Fuse 22,23 high beam. Low beams are unfused. The CEM controls power to the low beam. Check fuse 22,23. I am not sure if there is a relay for high beam. You can command VIDA to turn on the high beams and most all other lights or electric motors ect. You can also monitor the signal from the headlight switch and probably from the CEM out, for high beam bulbs. Are both high beam bulbs in working order. Go to design and function for more info about CEM and lighting.

I checked fuses, no problem with that. Could some relays have come into contact with water? If the card came into contact with water and as you said there is no relay for the high beams other than the f22-f23 fuses, where else could there be a fault?

also headlights don't move up,
Do you have HID bulbs that point higher down the road when on high beam (and the inner bulbs are daytime running lamps) or H11 low beam bulbs and the inner bulb is the high beam?

(only the HID bulbs "move up", the bulbs focus further down the road when switched to high beam - it's the same (outer) bulbs just focused further down the road )

You mentioned heavy rain and water in the car. Some xc90s have a problem with water getting into the CEM - common problems listed below courtesy of xemodex

This is the inside of the CEM module and as you can see the relay is damaged by water. I cleaned the PCB and the relay, I think there is nothing wrong with the relay, but the high beams did not work. I checked all the ways I learned from the circuit diagram. There is an interesting point I saw in the panel; Fuse 22 and fuse 23 go directly to the sockets without being connected to the relay I cleaned. Why might the high beams not be working even though they are not connected to the relay I cleaned?

guys, I may have found the problem, there is nothing wrong on CEM module, the problem it can be in the SWM modĂĽle. SWM modĂĽle isnt responding when i pull the indicator lever, when i realise this situation i decided to disassemble the indicator lever after that i see the broken part inside of lever, can someone tell me the part code or name of the part I show in the picture?
(The function of this part is to detect the high beams when you pull the lever.)
