XC60 w/ Air Suspension worth it

Hey there, planning on replacing our 2014 R design with a new R design, including Premium pack:

Panoramic Sunroof

Tinted Rear Windows

Premium Sound System - Bowers and Wilkins

I'm wondering if the Air Suspension is worth it, does anyone have it? I've read it's not as good as what's around from other manufacturers but is it worth it at all? I can't find any information about MY21 model and what updates that may have and/or when it might get released. Any ideas?

To me, the Air Suspension was too pricey for what its worth... Some love it, others hate it and most don't need it.
Of course, YMMV in Australia and I'd suggest you drive both cars to get a feel (if any) as to how it would be.
Also note that rear windows are tinted by default with the R-Design.

I don't have it. I did test drive it extensively though and felt it made a big difference.

If you are going to keep the car a while, keep in mind that air suspension is a big ticket item to repair.

Ultimately, I agree with Stocis. Gotta try it and make up your own mind.

I have it and there’s a real difference. Especially when cornering in Power Drive mode.

In Hybrid or Pure drive modes, road imperfections are much smoother. Railroad tracks are hardly noticeable.

I’d suggest you go on an extended drive with air suspension. I really do miss it on the few occasions I’ve had a loaner Volvo.

1. R-Design not R Desing
2. Yes, some options are offered as extra in some jurisdictions, whilst others are standard. Hence the YMMV. Check out Premium Package which includes B&W / Tinted Windows and Panoramic Roof.
3. Rear Tinted Windows are offered as standard in the R-Design Package. Strictly speaking, rear tailgate tint and an extra layer of tint for the rear windows is what if offered as an extra. You can see this in the preview screen (without and with
4. Thank you for your continuous check of my comments and posts. I'm not pretending to be smart, nor a know-it-all. I'm asking you nicely to stop making a fool of yourself.

I have he suspension and have it set in low mode with economy in my personal setting. My wife loves it as she is only small and I have the suspension set to curtesy drop when the engine is off so it makes it easier for her.

I have also needed to pass through. Some flooded roads, off road mode ads quite some extra height.

Would you suggest/recommend it to the OP D3ggy?

Error typing WOW what detection

Let's go back to your nonsense: rear windows are tinted by default with the R-Design

CONCLUSION:
rear windows are tinted by default on R-Design not true, different packages in different markets are an additional option

Since you didn't understand from the pictures that this is an additional option on R-Design, here is the link, so check out what the standard equipment for R-Design is
You did not write the Premium Package , which is optional , but its standard part of the R-Design . Premium Package is optional and for Inscription

Read and they will see who is fool :D:D:D

I did not test it myself thoroughly but I like the wow factor it brings. Our streets here are a bit rough/bumpy so I could see the need for it, but to me the 19" (that come with the R-design) work great. Do test both (with and without it) though, so you get a good feel of your choice, since adding it later would be a nightmare and most probably will not be possible.
Cheers

It was a close decision for us. We felt that the air suspension gave a bit better ride (even on the 19" wheels) but weren't sold that it was enough of an improvement to justify the cost/complexity so we ordered the car without it. But it was a near thing.

Then, a couple of weeks later, I saw something (probably here) that triggered another thought. Neither of us are tall and one of the things that we will use the car for is transporting our tandem - on a roof rack. The XC60 is already quite a bit taller than the V70 it replaced so it would be more difficult to get the larger (and heavier) bike up onto the roof. But with the air suspension the car can be lowered a few crucial inches. This isn't a feature that is likely to be a deciding factor for many but for us it tipped a near balance so we called up and changed our order.

You need to test drive and find out......Some on here say its the best thing ever..others the complete opposite. I really wanted to have it on my 2019 T8....Test drove it with and without and I didnt notice all that much of a difference. When i went to pick up my new T8, found a scratch, so they had to send it to their detailer....gave me a T8 with air....had it for a week....and I still didnt notice a huge difference, so was glad I went without......but everyone is different. When i told the Sales manager I was glad I had mine without, he even admitted they had a fair # come back for compressor issues in the colder months. Each their own....

We just bought a new 2020 XC60 T8 that we own without air suspension. My wife preferred it without as we test drove another model with it.

However, we did not spend extra on wider tires. I think her car rides better and quieter than my 2018 S90 T8 with air suspension!

The R comes with 21" here at least, on the sale yard most are 22" so I'm not sure if they made it smaller for MY20 but tire size is a good reason to add this as an option. I'll def go and test it myself too.

I could be wrong, but I recall reading a post where the air suspension was having noticeable problems in colder climates with quite a few owners. People in the warmer climates had no problem, but people in the colder climates had water freezing in the lines. It’s kinda strange, considering Volvo’s R & D dept is located in a colder climate (Sweden). Do a search

We got 2018 T8 with air and 20" Inscription wheels. Totally happy with it, no problems so far (22K miles on the car). The ride is great, although I could live with less body roll.

My customers who thought it would be worth getting if there was a difference have generally all gotten the option after comparing. But the vast majority of people don't care and we don't keep many in stock with it. It's very much a personal preference of value but I'd say if you think it might be worth the cost it probably is. It's about double the cost here of heated rear seats and steering wheel and you don't even use those half the year compared to every day you drive it.
