XC60 Sunroof leak - are there rear drains?

Our 2010 XC60 just started to pool water in the passenger REAR floorboard. From what I've read the water appears to pool in the front floorboards. Are there rear sunroof drains?

I can hear water sloshing around the B Pillar when we come to a stop or take off. There is no obvious water intrusion spot - we simply wake up to a wet rear floorboard after a good rain.

Are the only two drains in the front of the sunroof? I'm going to clean these out this weekend but wanted to know if there were rear drains that we should be looking for as well.

Thanks!

Has anyone actually unclogged these?

I spent an hour out this morning trying to track this stuff down.

The passenger side A pillar is partially clogged - I poured a bottle of water down the drain hole but only saw a few drops come out of the drain near the passenger front tire.

I removed the A pillar trim (following the instructions for an XC90 but there was no way to unclog the hose from the A pillar.
Next, I shot some compressed air down the drain hole but that didnt free up the issue either.

I may try to snake it from underneath next.

For this D-pillar - does anyone have pics or a guide on how to clear this one out?

Spent some more time this morning.

Update:

A-Pillar leak
Cant access anything from the a pillar (despite what other videos or pics show - they are not the XC60 design)
Took apart most of the trim and carpet underneath and found a leak that is coming from under the glove box, on the lower right hand side. I cant see or reach any tubing back there. It would seem that you'd need to remove the glove box to get to the tube but after 8 screws I still couldnt get it to budge.

Is there anyway to fish a line up from underneath? I can't locate the drain hole from under the car.

D-Pillar
Haven't started that one yet...

so any one actually know where the rear drains go?
no one seems to know or is able to describe where it goes. i am having same issue as heus.
so heus, you say you have water in passenger rear footwell but you traced the leak to the glove compartment? yet the front passenger footwell remained dry?

I ended up taking mine in to the dealer - after a few rounds of diagnosis they claimed it was due to an improper installation of the windshield. We had the windshield replaced, carpets removed and cleaned and it seemed to solve the issue. I've since traded it in for a new XC90 though so dont have any long term updates to share.

Ours (2013 XC60) has been in 3 times so far. Water only pools in the back seat drivers side footwell. Odd for sure. We too heard the water sloshing around in the b pillar (sounds like a half empty bottle of water under the seat)...

First time they said it was the windshield (pulled, resealed). Water still came in on rainy days.
Second, they said it was the sunroof wasn't closing fully (slow motors). Replaced those and we got it back. Problem seemed better but water was still collecting back there. (and only there)
Third time, they pulled the seats and carpet out and checked for leakage from sunroof or from floor area. numerous car washes and apply tons of water via a hose. They couldn't find any leaks. They even checked the A/C drains and said they were fine.
Conclusion according to them was that it originally leaked from the sunroof motor area and that the carpet was so wet, that it continued to drain back and collect in rear seat drivers side footwell.
They have had our xc for the better part of a week and will keep it over this weekend to ensure the carpet and padding are thoroughly dried..

We'll see...We've gotten loaners each time, so not to big a deal bringing it in...hope this is finally cured... We do plan on having the car outside here in the sunny pac nw...so if it still leaks , we'll know ...

I'll update in a few weeks (after we get it back) to see if the third time's the charm..

in my case it was a clogged drain. the drain hose connection was dislodged in the pillar causing the pool of water and the sloshing. the dealer knew of this and seems like a common issue. they reattached the hose and cut the end of the drain to be more free flowing kind of like martins suggestion.

sorry, never checked back in on this thread...Their official diagnosis was that the windshield leak at the passenger front was the culprit and the carpet being so thick and padded held lots of water. When parked in the driveway, it drained back and collected in the rear footwell. They had the car for a long time with the entire interior out so the carpet could dry.
No issues with water since.... Of course I've been back 4 times for them to fix a buzzing in the back that was caused by taking out all the panels LOL..this last time, I found the rattle, and pointed it out to them, and they finally fixed it :D .

I have just finished removing the carpets and seats. The carpets where soaked through. If you want to drain the majority of the water go under the car and pull out the round bungs in ghe rear footwell. I finally found my problem when it rained whilst i had the interior our. Water can in on the drivers side footwell. I removed the A pillar trim to access the drain tubs. The lower elbow is just out of sight. I put some silicone on the end of the purple drain and then reinserted them into the drain elbow. Tested and no water in the car. Finally after owning the car for 18 months. Now to wait for the carpet to dry and reinstall.

I just purchased a very used 2012 XC60 and will test the drains of the sunroof but I feel I should remove the A-pillars first and see if the drain tubes have detached from the piece that goes through the firewall. This point seems to be the most problematic, correct? What about the elbow piece that connects to the sunroof above the headliner, is that piece problematic as well?

This might help. My 2016 XC60 was leaking water into the rear cargo liner and even into the rear tire well due to clogged rear sunroof channels. I removed the interior taillight covers and was able to access the drain tubes that are orangish. I popped each of them out of the holes where it exits the car (rear wheel wells) and with the sunroof open blew compressed air through each of them dislodging and blowing out the clogs. Finished by cleaning the sunroof channels and popping the tubes back into their respective holes and tested the drains by pouring water into the channels, happy to say it flowed out where it was supposed to freely. Good Luck
