Anyone have one they’ve been happy with? These have a general reputation for flakiness. Ideally works w MY2023.

I tried on off Amazon and although it worked it won't show tracks in the main gauge cluster screen like the native plug-in Carplay does. It also takes like 1 minute to start up and work which is super dumb and annoying. I bought a short lightning cable and have it sticking out just the right length (6 inches) to plug the phone in and place it on the charging pad (which I leave off all times since the phone is plugged in). Kind of gets in the way of cupholders but not really. It's clean

I have the Motorola ma1. I have a 2018 xc60 though so it has sensus. Works very well with that. Every once in a great while it will need a reboot but very very rarely. It also is not able to update the firmware so unlike some others, if there are software bugs, it is what it is. The upside is that it was made in collaboration with Google. So if any of these devices are likely to work, this would be the one. I also read on a reddit somewhere about a USB switching adapter that worked for plugging into one USB and having and iPhone and this adapter connected simultaneously with a switch to pick whether to use one of the phones or the other. I purchased that as well as my wife has an iPhone and I have an android device. That has worked flawlessly. Below are the links to both. Hope this helps!

Ottocast works great, use them in both of our cars and update them pretty regularly. Uses wifi, not bluetooth to send data from your iPhone. They offer iPhone, Android, and combined offerings. I picked up the Air last year around this time. They now offer the Pro, providing link. I've been super happy with ours. I used it on a 4 hour drive to VA and no issues.

I’ve had my phone overheat before using wired CarPlay on a long drive and since I keep my phone in the armrest storage area, I figured that the enclosed area was the culprit. I’ve ordered a wireless adapter and now I will not only see if the device works but will pay attention to how much battery drain occurs.

in my sensus car the "carlinkit 4.0" has been working fine for both android and apple phones. for an android phone it presents to the car as apple car play so that's odd but all the stuff works

sometimes it needs a reset... unplug and replug. no big deal

it's important to NOT pair your phone to the car's bluetooth directly because then if you take a call the audio can be misplaced and silent

there's also some nuance on pairing: it's possible to pair the phone to the carlinkit, but have the carplay screen in the car not active. then whatever is happening with carplay is hidden (the phone think's it's connected, because it is, but the car to carlinkit link is not active) and I think I've missed calls because of that

I have a CarlinKit CPC200-U2W that I don’t use if anyone wants to take it off my hands. $30 shipped. EDIT: IT'S BEEN SOLD!

Worked perfectly in my ‘20 XC40.

It’s USB-A, not USB-C. If you have a newer Volvo with USB-C ports, you’ll just need a USB-C to USB-C cable for this to work

I recently bought a CarlinKit adapter and had really high hopes. My biggest problem is the fact that if, for whatever reason, you do not connect your phone (e.g., wireless/Bluetooth off), whether it is the adapter or my Sensus, a nagging prompt will pop up every five minutes asking me if I want to start carlink and disable USB. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

mine (carlinkit 4.0) will try to autoconnect to any that are already paired. when multiple phones are present it will briefly show a menu to select one but it can be hard to pick one before the autoconnect runs, and I'm not sure if the menu selection even does anything. if it connects to the wrong one a quick fix is to turn bluetooth off on the offending phone and unplug/replug the carlinkit
