Because of the dimensions, and exhaust made for the Toyota Camry will almost bolt directly onto the R. You may have to use different rubber hangers though.

NO, I repeat, NO aftermarket R exhaust will give you 18 hp!
The best stand alone, (street legal, catback) exhaust will give you maybe 5-7 HP

 

In combination with tune?

If you listen to the kids here, you can make a full exhaust for under $300 installed. You are overpaying for the OBX. Just make your own

 

do you have a link to the list of parts needed for an under 300 exhaust?

 

Best bang for your buck? That would be the stock one as it is already paid for

I went with a 4 inch turbo back off of a ford powerstroke f250. Sounds great and looks even better. Butt dyno says 22.6 hp increase.

Ipd down pipe and do the res delete that's what I did and it sounds wonderful.

 

I did the res delete and it sounded a little better, but I did it so I would have the exhaust bracket of death. I got 2 quotes for custom 3 inch exhausts and they were both around 500-600 for crush bent so..... You decide 2 inch mandrel or 3 inch crushed. I too am thinking about the OBX

Just go custom 3", mine was $405 installed Aluminized steel with quality welds. Magnaflow muffler and magnaflow tip

I also have a Race S60R 3" downpipe with a highflow CAT... total exhaust bill was $950 (DP +custom exhaust). Sounds great and for a lot cheaper than JUST the IPD oval catback.

Best bang for buck exhaust for S60R is the OBX.
Or get the exhaust and dp combo from OBX.
Some of those R owners just make money making so easy for the other vendors.

 

Get the OBX downpipe and catback, have a shop install them both at the same time (catback needs some work to fit right). $180 for the downpipe shipped, $405 for the catback shipped, $150-200 for the install. Looking at around $750 for everything installed.

I get compliments on my exhaust all the time, and the full system really does make a performance difference.

 

If you want to save money then you should make your own ain't no OBX will give you 18hp lol
I mad mine with a 3" stainless steel pipe and universal muffler it coast me around 250$ i felt the difference but it didn't feel like an extra 18hp.
Ps I know how to weld and I work for Volvo

Now is it true that a custom exhaust (3" dp, 3" pipe to borla muffler) would sound more raw (gurgles and pops) than a regular catback like IPD's?

It was the 4 cyl Camry - I compared it to my sisters... looks like the V6 has issues with how to block off the second pipe...

Honestly, I thought the best exhaust sound ever was from 1 large and 1 small Folgers can and 14 Wal Mart green bean cans all duct taped together... but what do I know?
