Volvo AAOS vehicles now have driver’s display support for Google, Apple and Waze navigation. I tested it this morning. It works great but only available for IOS.

This is what I read today:

Is it only for Android Auto? Does it not work for AAOS?

I tried it in my car today and it was the same as always (on AAOS), but I don't know if it's because I need to update the app (I haven't checked) or if it's only for Android Auto.

This was extremely buggy for me. One time the map in the driver's display appeared, but was frozen (while the center console display worked). Once, no map but the turns and ETA showed. Twice no map at all and the normal Google map showed up, and once with the map operating normally, but no turn information or ETA. It never worked the same way twice, nor did it ever seem to work completely correctly.

I have been able to try it out.
It's fine, but it's still insufficient. The screen only shows the map with the lines you need to follow; it doesn't provide any information about which lanes to take, or which exit to use at roundabouts, and it doesn't even indicate alerts.
Is it okay? Yes, but you still need to see the other screen to navigate properly.

I hope they continue updating it and eventually include indications in the HUD.

Today I found another improvement in Waze for Android Auto.

It seems they have updated it, and now the ETA, kilometers, and lanes you need to take appear on the driver's screen, not just the map as before.

Little by little they are improving it. Now, the only thing missing is for the alerts to appear on this screen (they only appear on the central screen) and for the HUD to also provide information like with Google Maps.

As far as I know, everything remains the same for AAOS.

I'm posting an image so you can see it. The quality isn't very good, but you can appreciate what I'm saying.

They've updated the version for AAOS.

Now the cockpit shows more information, although it's still minimal, just which junction to take and at what distance. The audio no longer fails me; now it always warns about things by speaking.

But I get the feeling it's been released with some errors. Nothing shows up on the HUD, but the traffic signs are separating from the speed indicator. It's as if they want to show something but it's failing.

It seems to me that what they want to show on the HUD is what's displayed in the cockpit, but they haven't implemented it well. That's the feeling I get. Hopefully, they'll fix it, show the map in the cockpit, and the junctions on the HUD.

At least it seems they're doing something.

However, it's still a bit ridiculous that you GET the Waze map on driver cluster through AA, but not through AAOS... like.. huh?! And also you get the Waze map on the driver cluster, you get information like detours and "Similar ETA" or "5min slower", but you do NOT get the alerts - cops, potholes, etc.. again - WHY?! It is SOME improvement, but still it's not what literally the entire globe is asking for.
