Volvo's Fuel Consumption Algorithm Flawed

I've done just under 450KM on electric power only, with ICE briefly coming on when I approach my garage which is on the incline, yet my car shows 360km driving range left on my fuel and an average consumption of 5.4L/100KM!

Calculation of 5.4L/100KM can't be correct, because if it were, then my fuel gauge should be half way full considering T8 has 50 odd liters of fuel. And at 5.4L/100K, I should have used up ~24L for my 449.8KM already travelled on electric power alone?

They must revise their fuel range algorithm to factor in the effect of the use of electric power on fuel consumption.

Understood

But then ICE at 17mpg (assuming I wasn't gonna recharge) isn't better than a diesel car even in city driving

Where diesel XC90 is being sold and the owner isn't keen on having extra power the T8 delivers, then I recommend the D5!

I found the TA ranges more accurate than the TM
I honestly don't know what the differences are, but can tell you on my vehicle the TA gives almost 100% accurate estimates.

TA is for the trip you've just undertaken. It'll count the entire trip provided the car wasn't switched off for more than an hour (I'm unsure of the max switch off duration for continuous trip count reading). It will not continue reading your consumption for overnight stoppages and this is the reading I was more interested in.

The continuous readi nbn g that includes overnight stoppages is recorded in TM
