Hi all,

Since I've already made several changes to my 2007 S80, I thought it would be cool to create my own 'project' page where I can share these modifications and any future ones.

I've already posted a few of my modifications in the OFFICIAL: S80 Photo Thread, which I will also include in the posts below.

I bought the car from my colleague. When he bought it, I was driving a 2007 Volvo S60 with a 2.4-liter engine, and I immediately told him, 'If you ever decide to sell this car, I'm going to buy it. So when he approached me about selling it, the deal was quickly sealed.
I really like the timeless design and all the options it has for a car that age. It has keyless entry, BLIS, adaptive headlights, Dynaudio, illuminated sill mouldings and memory driver seat.

I already made a list in my head with things that I wanted to change on the car, starting with the front grill. I wanted to give the car a more modern look on the front, so I changed it for a 2010 model year.

Pretty easy upgrade!

You know, the first thing I actually noticed was the LED strips on the foglights -- those are definitely aftermarket, no? I'm usually not a fan of the "strip" style LEDs on cars, but yours looks pretty nice. I'd be curious to see what you used/how you've wired them up, if you are willing to share 😁

The next mod that I did, was the MY2014 rear lights and chrome trim on the trunk. I think the MY2014 rear lights are such a great upgrade and makes the car so much more modern.
Image

The MY2014 chrome trim is the finish touch and makes the upgrade complete.

Although I don't have any comparison pictures with the old rear lights, we all know what they look like ;).

These are definitely a transformative upgrade for the P3 S80. They're rare here in the US.

I think it's safe to say that Volvos are not the sharpest turning cars 😂, so I decided to install a front upper strut bar from Ultra Racing. There were no strut bars made specifically for Volvo S80s, but the V60 ones also fit on other P3 models.

You can notice a little bit of difference, but nothing really major.

And as you can see, I also did a small airfilter upgrade🙂.

The standard steering wheel of the S80 feels a little bit thin and is not the best looking. Good reason to replace it with a brand new R-design version :).

Installation is pretty straight forward, you just swap the airbag and buttons from the old steering wheel to the new.
Oh, and don't forget to unplug the battery when you're removing the airbag ;).

I'm really happy with how it turned out. It makes the car feel new from the inside, and it gives it a sportier appearance.

The tires on my replica Ixion rims were quite shot, so I had to change them. I didn't like the fact that the Ixion rims were replicas, so it was a good excuse to replace them.

Image

Found some cheap Sleipner rims with good tires on an online marketplace, so I decided to go for it.

Image

I was quickly annoyed by the damage on the rims and felt that the wheels looked a little small on a car this big. So, the search for new rims continued.

Image

Then I found these Volvo Turbine rims with as good as new winter tires for an absolute steal, 300 euros. Rims were completely undamaged and looked as new.

Once again, really happy with how it gives the car a more classy and modern look.

The pre-facelift shifter (I believe from 2007 to 2012) looks pretty outdated and bulky. I had already done some research on the forum about how to replace it, but I always hesitated because I thought it would be difficult to swap it with a facelift model. However, I decided to take on the challenge and found an illuminated shifter from a 2013 S80 on eBay. In my opinion, it's the best-looking shifter you can get for an S80.

Removed the old one.

And in with the facelift one.

I was surprised by how easy the installation was. The only challenging thing was removing the center console.

While I was at it, I also replaced the all-black center console with an (used) aluminum trim one.

It was time for the next big update: a new interior. I'm not a big fan of the white leather interior. It looks a bit outdated, and it always gets dirty from sitting with your brand new jeans on it (see picture below)... So it had to go.

I found an all-black interior with doorpanels included from a 2014 S80. And the thing that made it an absolute win: it had power seats for both the driver and passenger sides. I always found it a bit weird that the passenger seat was manual, so this was a really nice upgrade.

Front seats in.

Rear seat in.

And to my suprise, the doorpanels have built-in sunblinds

The installation is pretty straightforward. Everything is plug and play, including the plugs for the power seats.

The latest upgrade. I was bored and looking around online for some second-hand Volvo parts when I stumbled upon an aluminum-look cupholder. I don't know if these are rare, but I thought it would be a perfect match with all the interior trims and would give the interior a more premium look.

I forgot to take a 'before' picture, but this is how it looked.

And the after

The finishing touch if you ask me!

Wow, I'm not actually sure I knew that was possible.

I would miss the tan interior myself, but I can see how the stains would get annoying. Power passenger seat is a big plus. I'm also a big fan of the silver console lid and the 2013 shifter -- the illuminated shifter is by far the best P3 shifter, and somewhat rare among all the different years produced.

The new rims are excellent. Maybe the Sleipner would be good for a winter set? They're beautiful. If you were in the US I would want you to ship them to me!

Thanks for posting great pictures of your build.
