Hey guys...im at work now..
But when I started my car it would start for one second then die...I kept tryimg to started and eventually it stuck after a lot of tried and managed to get it on the road...but I noticed on the highway it would surge ALOT like random times I'd get a surge in rpm...into I turn the AC off then it was perfect on the highway...then got to a red light and the car died..five starts later with alot my foot on the throttle hard I got it up and parked at work...any idea what it can be? No codes showed up when I checked at work.

Could be many things, but a good place to start would be the fuel pump relay. My V70 exhibited the same exact symptoms of starting, idling for a sec, and then shutting off. Only way I could get the car to stay running was multiple starts with foot hard on the accelerator. We went insane trying to track down the issue and the fault ended up lying with a $40 relay.

2000 Volvo S70 Non turbo SE. Sorry my bad. Managed to get it back to the house and having to start it back up at every red light (luckily only 2, mostly highway). Ill go at it tomorrow once the sun is up.

UPDATE:
Got the fuel relay in and still same problem. I can turn it on now without having to rev it and it will idle...but if i put the throttle down it dies, if i turn the AC on it dies. and the idle's revs go up and down a little bit every few seconds. Check engine light is on with the same codes: p1119,1670,p1119 p

Im reallyu hoping it wasnt the throttle body...but it is a 260k miles volvo s70...so i guess the body would make most sense. I cleaned the MAF and im not really good with stuff yet...all the lines seemed ok..there was one coming out of the engine air filter that just lead to no where and shot air straight out, but im assuming thats supposed to me there? (Not really a hose, but a thin rubberish tube). Cleaned the throttle body as well...it didnt sit flush and took no pressure to open it with my fingers if that helps.

Thanks for the help i really appreciate it!

On a side note, im not sure if this is relevant information, but I did change the brake booster sensor last week (Had the ets light on for 7 months, changing that out took that light away). Not sure if that might have anything to do with it but just incase putting that in here.

P1119 is engine coolant sensor, P1670 is immobilizer related. I sort os suspect a battery voltage issue. Clean and check your terminals and all visible grounds.

I honestly hope its just the battery...sady I dont have any volt meters or anything..might just try a new battery? I notice when i turn off or on my he a lights the engine revs a bit for no reason...and the ad thing made my cat stutter in The highway.

When the car dies an arrow comes up..then battery light..then engine oil light if thats any helpful information too.

Alternator voltage regulator could be flaking out as well.

Might just have to tow it to the mechanic. Any thoughts on it being the immobilizer antenna ring? I know the p1670 code is related. I tried cleaning the ring but it didnt fix it but maybe a new one might help. Not sure if the symptoms I'm having is what a faulty immobilizer antenna would do though..

Mechanic called and said they will try replacing the o2 sensor and immobiliser...$250 for the sensor and $60 for the immolizier with 2 hour labor, although i cleaned the immobilizer in less then 5 mins but to hell with it. Hopefully this will fix it :(

Sounds like ETM failure symptoms. Or a vacuum leak.

Just saw this video

Its pretty much exactly the issue I have...Kind of wish i didn't listen to my father to go to the mechanic :(
Ill start the xmodex order, should of just bit the bullet it and done it last night.

Bad new guys...SAME problem back again in 2000 miles, Same error codes: P1119 and P1670. I had a brand NEW immo from last time left over which i swapped over and made no difference what so ever. Car starts and if i pedal the gas it dies.
Last time i took it to the mechanic and he switched the o2 sensor and immo ring and it worked perfect till now. Is it really just the o2 sensor causing this? As I did 1/2 of what he did so it cant be the immo ring even the after swap the same error codes are there.

EDIT: Starting to think its the Immobilizer module itself? The communication problem cant be the ring so its either the green connector going to the ring or something at the module. Not to good at this stuff, for now just shooting compressed air at the connectors

Is there a way to reset the immobilizer module on these volvo's?
I digged deep and some cars make you unlock and lock the door 5 times and others have you open all the doors for 10 mins. Not sure whats the method on the s70 2000 non-turbo
