I like it. I'd have loved the city weave interior in my car if it was offered.

 

We have the 2020 version of City Weave in our V60 Cross Country. However, they've changed it for 2022 models (the fabric is a different color and the steering wheel is now black instead of blonde).

I don't buy leather products outside of cars (it's usually in them). However, I do like the leather I can wipe clean and feel it's clean whereas a fabric feels harder to disinfect so to speak. I don't mind the MB Tex Mercedes has on the cheaper cars, essentially vinyl, it's super durable.

 

I'd take the city weave if they want to put it on a contour seat. With black please, I don't have time for light interiors lol. The wool looks nice too, I guess the PETA people don't like that either.

 

Heck some of them won’t even eat honey….yet they will eat vegetables pollinated by the bees. 😅
Btw I eat mostly vegetables myself, I just cant do without eggs and cheese.

 

I have a momentum and even though the vegan leather is convincing, when I had the XC60 loaner with standard leather, I was immediately more in love with it. What I do like about Volvo's vegan leather is it seems thick, not thin like some other manufacturers.

 

Would love for other manufacturers to follow suit. I think the alternatives are getting so good that they are better than leather (or as one German automotive reviewer on YouTube puts it - "animal skin") seats in terms of long term wear and overall performance.

 

I've heard a quote from an industry insider, something like "you aren't buying leather seats, it's a picture of leather under plastic" which has helped explain why a "leather" seat can last so long when I sit on it every day ha. So might as well be vinyl or whatever else under that coating. It does wear well and clean up pretty easy, which I like "leather" even though I miss the days of cloth seats. Would really like to try the wool interior in the Volvo!
