When I first got my c30 a few months ago I was having issues with my car making some concerning noises and they were even worse in the morning and seemed to quiet down towards the end of the day. Once I got the fuel rail pressure sensor replaced most of the sounds went away but in the morning one of the sounds remained and was doing the same thing where it would quite down throughout the day. Basically I thought it was the passenger side CV axle making all the racket so I got a new one from FCP euro and replaced it myself and the noise persisted. I finally caved and just took it to Pepboys to figure it out and after having my car for over a day they told me it was my "3 motor mounts and transmission mount" and quoted me like $1200 to do all of it.

I'm not one to pay that much in labor and I was expecting my mounts to go out soon anyways (I'm at 114k miles) so I decided after watching various videos (why does no one have a video with all 3 mounts in it :( ) I would just buy the ~$270 kit from FCP and do it myself. The one thing that wasn't very clear is where and how you support the engine/transmission throughout each mount replacement. The one under the battery and the one under the coolant res seem fairly simple just put a block of wood under the engine between the jack and lift/lower as needed during the process. what worries me is the lower torque mount as no one was very specific about what needs to be supported and what doesn't. If anyone has a link to a clearer video on the whole process of the lower torque mount replacement or any tips I would greatly appreciate it.

The mounts should arrive on Tuesday, Muffler delete on Friday!!!

The torque mount is super easy, no need to jack up the engine. Just make sure the car isn't putting load on the transmission and mounts (like parked in a driveway with an incline and the transmission in park holding the car). And simply unbolt it, swap parts and bolt it back. The engine will not move/fall, since it's hanging from the other two mounts, and the torque mount only prevents it from turning forward/backwards on the other mounts.

Okay perfect thank you and just to be 100% sure mine is manual so just put it in neutral and pull the e break and turn it off I assume? And then should I put the whole car up on stands or will it be fine if I only stand up the front of the car during the change.

BTW the mounts just showed up at my house by surprise even though it said Tuesday (9/13) unfortunately I’m at work for another 4 hours after this lunch break so I’ll have to start when I get back. Hopefully I can get all 3 done tonight with no hassle.

Depending on the condition of your other mounts, you may need to support or lift the engine to help get the torque mount aligned. When replacing any mounts, just put a 2x4 between a jack and the oil pan and you'll be good to go.
