I know this is an unusual question for the forum but does anyone have some information about the new Volvo logo color specification. I'm doing this little project and I wanted to use the VOLVO blue as such:

RGB
CMYK
Pantone

Or an official Volvo pdf document with it init would work too.
Thanks to anyone who might have information on this.

Thanks Crossie!

Unfortunately as I was afraid they are using a different color for their car badge than the official logo for prints. Go figure the badge color is so much more appealing...
I may have to proximate :(

Maybe I'm wrong... Maybe it's close:

What I did is flaw though...

What you see on the screen in the previous post is the RGB (computer screen) representation of PMS-072

But CMYK is what is used for printing most of the time.

It looks like Volvo has intentionally try to match the RGB screen look on their badge instead of what their Logo would look on prints.

Haaa! color match is such a PITA

Yes off course I have both programmes. I am quite fluent with them and I have the Pantone book as well. The issue is more what to give to the printing place to get the correct result. Not to worrie. I'll just have to do some test run. Nothing new really! It's just annoying... Graphic designer have to deal with this all the time!

Not familiar with Pantone. But have you tried lowes?? See if they can scan it. I've done that for a few products

From 2020 brand guidelines:

I've run into a similar issue for web design/ads.
Volvo put a funky RGB that is out of the gamut for websafe. Indesign doesn't flag it but Photoshop does.

Putting CMYK 100/91/31/18 from the guidelines into illustrator gives that lower saturated color.
Also page 17 of the brand guidelines reflects the lower saturated color and matches the CMYK in illustator.
I believe page 21 bright blue depiction is the coated pantone that we cant replicate for web, nor can we see properly unless it is printed.

I believe the proper color for webdesign/assets is HEX: 233567.
