My recently acquired Sonicama R came with a Chassis Settings light on. The backs felt blown at 140K and ONE (Left front) front was recently replaced before I bought it with a Volvo OEM part. I replaced the other three with Monroes, but the Chassis Light is still there.

At Carlisle I had the codes read with VIDA and my mechanic read them again with different software and Left Front (the new Volvo part) Strut Solenoid came up as a fault. Does this indicate the strut itself needs to be replaced or am I looking at something like the SUM itself? All the connections look good.

Before I go throwing parts at it, I wanted to see if any 4C gurus could point me in the right direction. Slim chance, but could a SUM recalibration solve this? The strut looks and feels brand new (only about 5K on it).

Anyone with VIDA near Northeast PA willing to do the recal and scan again? :D

Thanks in advance!

Bump for the late crowd. Any ideas?

Check the wiring, if it's not routed properly after being changed it could be getting pulled on full lock.

I checked quick when rotating tires and everything appeared to be plugged in connected good. My Indy said the plugs look good too.

The wires looked fine on mine as well, but when turned full lock the code would trigger, gave a couple inches more slack and the code has not come back...

It also has been reported that the solenoids in new shocks have been bad. There were a couple bad batches it seems in the last year or two. No solution other than replacing the shock (hopefully under warranty).

If I can't get a VIDA scan soon, I think I'm going to call the shop that replaced it for the previous owner and see if there's anything they can do for me.
