You are right, your test is correct.

 

As you already saw with your tissue test, sucking. Same across all the models with that feature. I believe the theory is it keeps air from being trapped between you and the seat, to keep you cooler.

 

It is to cool the seats using the air from A/C, not to blow the heat from seats to you.

As well as what, a trained Marmoset below your seat with a can of compressed air?

 

We have ventilated seats that suck air away in an Acura MDX and they really don't do a lot as far as keeping my backside cool. We also have a Chrysler minivan and those cooled seats blow cooled air out and they really do a great job.

 

I live in Arizona and use the feature often. I don’t really notice it when it’s set on the lowest to settings-I do notice a difference when switched full on at level III. It seems a bit noisy, as does the AC system… But that’s another discussion.

 

At first I was disappointed, but I found out it works well, actually. It really does cool you down, in a fairly non-intrusive way.
As Profiler said, I wish it wasn't as loud. But every car I had with ventilated seats had a loud fan. On my last BMW it sounded like a jet engine.
In the summer, I actually leave the seats on level 1, which is not as loud, the whole time. It feels like it isn't doing much. Yet, I had someone turn the seats off during a car wash, and I immediately noticed being warm.
