I have a 2004D...I believe there was one last version of VADIS in 2005 also. It was late winter or early spring 2005 that VIDA took over unless I'm missing something.

Completely different systems. VADIS is a disc-based standalone system which was updated via redistribution several times a year. The last US version was 2005A, though there may have been some later ones to certain regions.

VIDA is an online system which is largely web-based. Volvo started rolling it out late in 2004. It has completely replaced VADIS. You can subscribe to it, but it's expensive and basically designed for Volvo franchisees. As was VADIS, of course.

Yes, but with VADIS there is the opportunity to buy the discs on Ebay for $1.95 plus shipping from the UK (or whatever). I assume that there won't be any opportunity for to obtain VIDA inexpensively with a web-based system.
