Immense hours. 28K seems like a deal for a 1 of 1 unique piece.
Wow, can't believe he's selling it after all that work. On to the next project I guess.

The Amazon 2 door wagon is more my thing but that’ll go for far more I expect. Coming to a BAT auction this summer.
Absolutely - let us know when it's sitting in your driveway. :sneaky:

Only 800 ever made for the US, I'm sure you could get more than the grand they want for it in parts alone. I'll keep my eyes peeled, see if this does not make it to the local Pick and Pull and provides an augment to my Ocean Race spares.

Thanks for starting this post!

This is a great reference.

There’s something about an Ocean Race! We’ve got a ‘15.5 XC60 OR (P). Outstanding Volvo!

Taking this one for a PPI on Wednesday 12/13/23.

2008 V8 sport, 96k miles. Looks relatively clean and seems fully optioned other than RSE. Has 4 owners per Carfax, no reported accidents. Dealership is telling me it has a new set of tires and brakes as well as motor mounts recently replaced. Hoping this is a winner and if so could get in this by Christmas!

I m always highly suspect of buy here pay heres but this one looks decently clean. I would inquire if it has had the valve cover gaskets done since for 10k thats top end of the market, and youll be in at least another $2k-3K for that service alone.

Working the valve cover gasket repair into the deal with seller and potentially making headway on this.

Also getting a fresh set of motor mounts all around. PPI came back mostly clear of the big ticket items but they found the valve cover gaskets to be "seeping" and recommended the repair, as we've all foreseen.

Thanks to everyone who provided me their feedback on advice! Could be getting a decent deal here!

Here is a suggestion for a "while you're in there" list while doing the VCGs.
Fuel injector o-rings.
Valve cover grommets.
PCV Valve and hoses - these will likely be brittle if original.
Fuel Pressure Sensor
Power steering pump if it's whining or otherwise noisy
Serp belt, tensioner and rollers, unless recently replaced.

Making that one mine folks! Moved forward with deposit today.

Worked over the seller for repairs and cutting me a deal. PPI had this come back mostly clean, some issues but overall it's nice. Rather than going through his "local guy" for the VGC repair, I'll be taking this to my local Volvo indy shop for that job and they're giving me a fair quote (what I think is fair anyways) for $1500.

Soon to be a V8 owner! Already have upgrade and maintenance plans for this beauty. Been reading through all the XC90 pertinent threads over the past week and very excited to get this and keep it well maintained over many years of ownership.

Hey, congrats! Which indy shop do you use locally? Always looking to try out a new shop.

Just saw this super low mile ORE down in Dayton.
Dang wish I saw that, looks nice!!! Haha all well, I wasn't even looking at pre 2007 ones. That one used to be right in between my old work and home.

I called around today and landed on this shop out in Chagrin falls. Only 20 or so min from me.

Seemed friendly over the phone and the guy I talked to said he's worked on several V8s over the years and knowledgeable about the service required. I haven't used them yet but hey got $50 off promo for any first time customer!

I'll let you know what I think when I get this car over to them. If they work out may just take my cars to them going forward (when I don't need dealership work that is)
