I just got back in the house after doing this myself! Infuriating.

Start by having the car forget your phone in the Bluetooth menu. This seems to make later syncing easier.

Then go to the main (home?) screen, drag down from the top like you would on a smart phone. That will show your wife's profile. Press her profile name and a new window will pop up with your wife's profile and, below it, the option to add a new profile.

Mine was a little weird and took a couple of tries, but worked eventually. From there, you should be fine to pair with roughly the same process you had the first time around.

I still had issues pairing the key to my profile, but I'll try again tomorrow.

Edit: You can have one Volvo account per profile, not car. Our salesman was wrong on that. I think they're getting bad training on this issue. My wife and I can both control the car via the app with our own logins.

 

Thank you, I’ll try this! While I’m at it and preaching to the choir, why give only one fully capable fob and not two? The black and limited orange is weak given the cost of the car. Just saying.

 

So, the old (not good way) in the non Android Cars let you share one login and multiple cars and multiple phones, etc. The problem was that it's very insecure and required the retailer or the customer care team to do account changes or linking.

In Android cars, one profile per person. Each profile has a VolvoID (Spotify, etc) and a phone to pair. Two phones per profile are not allowed at the moment.

One profile needs to be Admin, so you can recover other accounts if you uninstall or get a new phone.
