Wanted to introduce myself and to talk briefly of my car - this thread has a lot of pictures but I've done more performance mods and pictures weren't taken then - like clutch upgrades, UR pulley upgrades, sway bars, links, throttle adjustments, cables, etc etc. Injectors will be coming soon, getting 630cc Siemens Deka and another map tune for E85 soon.

My name is Keoni, from Hawai'i, moved to Pennsylvania and currently reside in Georgia though I still have a home in Pittsburgh and in Hawai'i (well, not my house but family's house) and I go between PA and GA often.

Posted this in the General section as I think that it might not be appropriate for R-Forum since its not really tech related, questions or help - so off topic is probably where I should have put this now that I think of it. I'm going to try to put this in chronological order.

First mod after warranty expired - its a sad day yet exciting day really. Warranty always gives a peace of mind but now I can mod at will without worry, so to speak. :)

I've always wanted TPMS in this Volvo, should have came factory in my oppinion:

Wanted a way to monitor my car's basic info:
Photobucket

My car didn't have factory NAV, something I wanted when searching for my car. At the time of purchase, I never knew that I probably wouldn't have been satisfied, so I built my own unit from a salvaged unit I picked up at a junk yard, actually picked up a couple of them, got 3 for 100 total. 2 were broke but all I wanted was motors and housing. Bought some eBay monitors, took them apart and voila. I then picked up an entirely different unit and sold the custom made ones. I also mounted new radio and DiNOC wrapped the units. :)

I finally got a FMIC I wanted, Phuz put it in for me - very happy though the install broke my AC unit down the line as the added pressure of the FMIC install was pushing and bending against the unit causing it to rub against the radiator causing a crack in the side of the AC radiator leaking out my freon. Oh well... Installed my front and rear camera too while I was at it.
Photobucket

My carbon fiber pieces was finally completed... front winglets, front splitter, boost gauge, spark cover, cam cover, fuel rail / tb cover. Installed iPD v2 boost guage - since day 1 the backlight LED works only 50% of the time, oh well...

Photobucket

Installed 6k HID foglights too while I was at it and changed main unit bulbs to 6k.

Tinted taillights with 35% high gloss film, installed CF trim, and did the dual rear fog light MOD.

Started thinking of exhaust, removed my Exhaust Bracket of Death. Took some notes, will tackle a custom setup later.

Redid my front grill, originally painted it black but now I painted it factory color to match! Installed new badge and grill backing as well.

Got pissed at my boost gauge, decided to take it apart and attempt to fix, after my 'fix' there has been no change, still light only works 50% of the time. Noticed my A-Pillars material was in deterioration so I wrapped that in DiNOC too - will redo my A-Pillars, radio surround and pop up dash grill in real carbon fiber very soon - hopefully haha.

Had to fix the front winglets, again!! Decided to two tone them and install my eyelines.

Front windshield cracked, had it replaced, instead of reinstalling my 'eyebrow' tint line, I tinted the whole thing! :)
New Windshield Tint, 50%
New Windshield Tint, 50%
IMAG0454, 50%

After 1.5 years with no driver exhaust piece, I finally got another one! Car is almost complete!

Normally I wouldn't have so much CF exposed, but with a dark colored car, it worked well too - though later on I two tones a couple of my CF pieces.

This thread is a repost - I contacted a moderator to have it moved from one forum to this forum but figured it's just as easy to recreate the thread though I lost the original comments.

I figured everyone else was making one, why not I. :)

There are a lot I left out, mostly performance oddly enough cause, well, I just did.

Very nice, with all the carbon fiber parts you should wrap the roof in carbon fiber I think it would look good.

Also what tire pressure monitoring system are you using?
Thanks! The roof inlayed in real CF crossed my mind - I wouldn't have gone the whole trouble of removing the roof skin and inlaying a formed CF mostly because saving 50lbs in skin on a nearly 2ton car and still have my sunroof/glass/motors didn't make too much sense. So if I do it, I'll just remove the seals, lay an inlay of CF and reinstall the seals and trim, IDK, maybe, might be too much.

The TPMS is by Orange, bought it on eBay.

Could you pls remove the photo with the exhaust bracket, that's my photo and I adore the bracket even with my TME exhaust. You CAN'T use it negative.

#8 · (Edited)
Will do.

Removed.

I do have the 19" Vanilla with the newer offset sitting new in boxes inside my garage still. :) Been that way almost a year haha. I'll get around to mounting tires and getting it on the car soon.

and the highly ILLEGAL IN PA front tint

#13 ·
Yes, you are right!! Actually its a double negative, aside from the whole windshield being tinted, I also just removed the state/emission stickers all together. I'm not condoning and definitely not recommending others to do the same - but it looks damn good!

So when will we get the performance mod details? I'm very curious to know what all you've done and what kind of power you got back for your efforts.

#20 ·
What a stellar looking R. Wow.

Must get hood vents soon :D

#24 ·
I wouldn't think so as they would still just blow the A-pillars off their mounting points regardless of the wrap or guages or whatever is there. Probably shouldn't do a fire extinguisher there though :D

WothRLine tune is awesome, it was my first - very detailed!! Talked about IATs, piping, injector, 4C control, etc prior to building it. It does not build boost as quick and it feels the power kicks in after 50mph or while in 3rd to 4th shift and sometimes pulls when 5th gear hard, like its learning all the time. Very stable and awesome. I use this during preplanned "track events", haha, :)

Autotech tune 1, pulls like a bat out of hell in all gears, no matter, so I can litteraly build 22/23psi in 1st gear if not careful, 4c setting altering the TB reaction. Tune map 2 is a little more conservative. Tune 3 is more for cruising, it was originally an error, corrected, then made it a touring tune giving me a stock tune in gears 1-4 and 5/6 will build to 19/20psi if I get on it, no change anywhere else, basically for great fuel economy.

I am getting 630 injectors, E85 tune map, and a couple other nic nacs for my other tune - will post who will make that one later (something BoostedS60R is arranging but no need to give away the surprise just yet), going to pick up another ECU for that one. :)

slick whip man, hows the leg?
Thanks man! Leg is healing, more or less, still not allowed to stand/bear weight, another eval on 14Nov and will know more than. Odds are they'll approve weight bearing and then my 'real' physical therapy will start. Right now I do the basics 3 times a week: bike for 20 min, calf extensions, sit on a wheeled stool and pull myself across the room a few times (build hamstrings and such) then hooked up to a 4 post electrode and pulsate energy into my leg at various points (basically to prevent atrophy).

Prepped rotors today, can't drive my car yet but wanted to prep rotors.

Will do calipers also in Brembo gold next weekend!

#31 ·
Thanks! Used VHT engine paint gold, works great and looks just as great. It looked a little copper at first but after it cured, it went to the gold color as I wanted. The hub area will match the calipers, I miss the way my old two piece rotor hubs matched my calipers from my other cars so I wanted to recreate the look.

Hopefully the final finish will look good next weekend.

#33 ·
Yes I am, plus it'll ensure that the color will be more even/exact than if I used another brand like G2 or such.

Bought a box/sub/amp from a local guy here, think he made it for someone else's S60 as I don't think he has one - though he has like 4 Volvos in his garage and a sweet ass bagged Wagon!!

I'm pretty sure he built the box, great construction and solid. I had it for over a year and never installed it, this weekend, finally installed it. Anyhow, mounted it, ran wires, spliced leads off factory amp, yada yada yada.

Thanks! You should, completes the look in my opinion. Inline motors aren't meant to have dual exit exhaust but it looks good. :)

The wheels add a nice touch, not too say the old ones didn't look good also :) good job.
Thanks. I really liked my 20's and the Vanilla wheels are the first aftermarket wheels I've ever bought/owned that did not have a polished lip or deep dished... I'm digging it though.
