Picked up a 2016 v60 awd turbo for my wife. We drove a few v50 and s40 with true manual transmission. They definitely felt noticeably quicker than the now purchased v60. Although the v60 is much nicer than the others but just wonder if there’s something tuning wise that’ll add a lil pep to her car?
thanks in advanc!

@Island_V70 im not sure which mode it's in...we bought it and pretty much the next day I left to go out of town for work. The warranty not getting voided is a good thing for sure. I'm not looking for crazy amount of power just a lil more "playful" than it is stock. I had a tuner on a 7.3 powerstroke diesel truck years ago. It made a huge differenc. I ran it in the lowest of the 3 setting. The problem with the trucks back then was if you ran them on the highest setting you took a big chance of damaging the tranny.

Shift into drive and then pull the shift lever sideways (to the left in LHD cars) and it goes into Sport Mode. The shift points change and the car feels a LOT faster. You also now can move the shift lever fore and aft to manually shift gears. In normal mode it seems to shift at about 1800 RPM unless you really punch it.

I think people want to know if you have the 4-cylinder or 5-cylinder motor. They are all turbocharged and the naming can be confusing especially for those transition years.
If you have the 5-cylinder the consensus is that there's not much you can do in terms of chipping.

Here is a link to the TDI Tuning box from Viva Performance for your engine: (CORRECTED for 2.5l inline five). TDI Tuning Box with Bluetooth, Volvo P3 2.5L 5-Cylinder - ViVA Performance

Obviously these numbers are optimistic, but the gains are very noticeable and measurable. I just installed one in my S60 T6 and it dropped the 0-60 second time from 5.2 to 4.8 seconds (I have the Polestar tune, so it was already dropped from the stock T6's 5.8 second time).

My impressions on the box are here: p.rico's S60 T6 Journey and DIY Thread | Page 17 | SwedeSpeed - Volvo Performance Forum

I'm definitely a total newb when it comes to all things Volvo...hence why I'm here. Y'all are awesome and make my life easier. I assumed it had the 5 cylinder in like the v50 since it has t5 on the back Of the car but sounds like I'm pretty much confusing everything.
For the VEA engines, the numbers are no longer related to cylinder count. The base 2.0l inline four is shared across all platforms.

T5 - 2.0l inline four turbocharged
T6 - 2.0l inline four turbocharged+supercharged
T8 - 2.0l inline four turbocharged+supercharged (front wheels) + electric motor (rear wheels)

No problem!

Yes, my parents are from Mayaguez, so you were close by! I haven't been back since pre-Maria though. It's been too long.

OP stated that he has the T5 which in 2016 AWDs is the 5-cyl engine The 4-cyl T5 happened in 2017 AWDs. My understanding is that there is no Polestar tune available for this engine. If there is, point me in the right direction so I can sign up for it. In addition to moving the shifter lever left into sport mode, if it hasn't been done recently, the drivability may be significantly improved by having the level 2.0 software update.

You're correct, the 2015.5 and 2016 years are too much...

I've edited the post above with the correct inline five TDI Tuning box. At least for him, if he wants it, there is an option for a tune, just not a warranty...

Service 2.0 | Volvo Cars

Some of the smaller updates to certain modules are free. New feature updates are not. You have to have service done to get them to look, they're not going to do it for free just because. YMMV depending on the dealer.
