Summer tires advice, 2018 Polestar S60

I have to get summer high performance tires and plan to stay with the 19" Volvo winter wheels which have Michelin Pilot Alpin 235/40-19 tires mounted that my son put on before he gave me the car. I have the 20" original wheels, but I think the car looks much better with the 19" wheels; the 19" tire size from Tire Rack is 245/40-19, which is more meaty than the thinner 20" tires and the roads here can be awful, and the 19" tires are much less expensive than the 20" tires.

I'm a Michelin tire fan and I am planning on the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, which I have been running on my 2013 S60 R-Design. Tire Rack doesn't list the tire except for the "Mercedes Spec," but Michelin's site lists that and the "normal" Pilot Sport 4S. The Volvo recommended tire pressure is 38 PSI, but the Tire Rack notations call for 42 PSI to maintain the warranty and load, but I know the added pressure is going to make the car ride really hard.

I assume the rim width is the same for the summer and winter Polestar wheels. Correct?

Any insights?

Hey JML..... Lots of options here for sure. I went with Yokohama Avid Apex in a 19. Been really happy with them for daily spirited driving, and they performed well on track.
below link from when i got them on!

re-reading, your post. I agree. All the tire shop 'wizards' have odd results. If tire rack has it in a 245/40-19, ya should be good to go.
