Summer or All-Season tires?

Ok - let me preface this by saying I know the difference between these two different types of tires, and I know the advantages of each.... what I am interested in is what you all choose for your C70s?

Traditionally I have done an ultra-high performance all-season on mine, but it is no longer my daily driver, so less need for all-seasons. Also, I live in Charlotte so snow and ice aren't a concern. It rains a bit here so I want a tire that can handle rain......so my only concern about switching to summer tires is when I have went that route before I felt the tires had VERY short lives (like 1 or 2 years) and weren't as durable when it came to surviving potholes, etc...

If weather isn't a big concern, then I would say it would depend on how you drive and how long you expect your tires to last. I have had both Summer and All-Season tires over the years. If you want the best performance on dry roads and want to drive agressively, get Summer performance tires. If you want better performance on wet roads then I would go All-Season tires. I can't say this is true in all instances, but in my experience my Summer performance tires haven't lasted anywhere near as long as my All-Seasons.

If you can afford the Pilot Sport all-season, they are kind of the best of both worlds.

For summer tires I like the Falken FK510, they have really good wet traction. Similar to the Pilot super sport performance wise, but wear a little faster for half the price. If you stay above 300 treadwear you should be good, lower than that and it's kind of a waste.

Take into account that summer tires are also typically louder on the road than all-seasons (due to the increased contact patch). If tire noise bothers you, then stay away.
