SRS Airbag Service

I changed the seats in my car to heated seats from the junkyard and swapped over the climate module in the center console. Doing so triggered my SRS Airbag code, so I just put the original module back into the car. I'm not a VIDA expert, but would clearing the codes in vida make this go away? How would I be able to determine whether or not my airbags were functioning correctly?

Dealer was like "They may work or the may not". Didn't seem like the mechanic knew too much what he was talking about LOL

Are the airbag control modules for the seats linked to the car? If so, you would have to swap the modules from the old seats.

Yes, the warning message will go away if there is no longer a fault in the SRS system.

It is said that unplugging the climate control module with the battery connected will cause an airbag fault. It's not necessarily the new climate control module... Unless you're saying putting the old climate control module back in cleared the airbag fault. But, That usually doesn't happen with airbag faults. Once set, it requires a scan tool to clear the fault and turn the dash light off.

I'd put the new climate control module back in and try clearing the airbag fault and see what happens.

Removing the CCM with the key turned on set the SRS code. It is hard to remove the CCM with the key remove because you have to move the gear shift from park to make room.
Below is the DATA/CAN network/path. Some of the modules is a pass thru for other modules to communicate with the CEM. The SRS passes thru the CCM.

Yeah - the airbag service warning on dash is triggered by several things like seats, ccm, airbag itself, dash or interior pillar work.
I 'think' this is the way I did my ccm and radio removal...
Key on, put in drive, pull handbrake hard and chock the wheel.
Disconnect battery and then do the CCM work, reconnect battery, put back in park, remove key.

Never have your key so much as in the ignition when swapping seats or other items. For good measure, pull the battery
