The cupholder pulls straight out. Just pull on it upward until it pops out. You will need to disconnect the 12V cable.

The cupholder door necessitates disassembling the center console to expose the screws that hold the cupholder and armrest assembly in place. This is about an hour or so in labor, which is why they're charging you this much.

Follow the instructions here to take the dash apart, which will then give you access to replace the sliding door --> https://forums.swedespeed.com/showt...read.php?505041-2013-Illuminated-Shifter-Assembly-Retrofit-into-2011-2012-S60-s

Indeed you can do it yourself, you have to remove the central armrest and the replacement is done quite simply

Yes, for your 2012, like stated above, just pull out the cupholder. Pull up from the back of the cupholder to release the two tabs holding the cupholder in place and then unclip the 12V power connection. Once it's out, the top of the cupholder can be taken off to then change out the rubber tab gasket.

Hi again, I just tried to pull the cupholder out of the centerconsole and it won’t go beyond the sliding door edge. Do I need to disassemble the center console or something before I pull the cupholder out? It’s really difficult to do it. I feel like I’m gonna snap it or break something. I’m already regretting doing this because now I can’t get it snapped back in place and the door won’t close now.

You can pull up around the obstruction. Pull the sliding door as far back as you can. The two clips that hold the cupholder in on the rear need to disengage, and they will be TIGHT. I've taken the cupholder out from the console many times (to wire 12V switched power from the power plug). Never had to disassemble the console to slip it out.
