Ordering mine hopefully next week I wont be going home for a few weeks however so I wont be installing them until then. Let me know how you like them I have to believe this will solve my problem it is exactly the same thing my car is doing. A lot of the R guys run these and say they love them.

My inserts just shipped from IPD today, should be here midweek next week and will do the install next weekend. I don't really feel much of what they are describing right now but I might just be in denial - my old FCAs were soo bad the car did everything they listed: swerved, dived under braking, bad tire wear and felt drunk in genereal....I think I am just happy to have the FCAs replaced. I wouldn't be surprised if the poly sub frame bushing inserts do indeed improve the feel even if it feels good now. I will update in my build thread when it happens.

axle shaft removal difficulties

So I took my car I my indie today to get the driver side axle replaced since I really don't have time with school. I got a call with them telling me they have been trying to pry it out for hours and it won't budge. It's a reputable shop they specialize in volvos and they've done hundreds of S60 axles and they've never seen something like this.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? They're saying that it's seized. I have 91k miles on the axle from the factory so I'm not sure how mine could be any different. Does anyone have any advice on where to go from here? the shop is going to try working on it again tomorow but said no promises. Thanks in advance!
Yes - My 2003 Volvo XC90 AWD 2.5T w 167K miles needed front axles. My experienced auto mechanic friend and I worked on the driver side axle for over 2 hours with 2 long pry bars and a power wrench with pickle fork fitting to no avail. He's not a fan of Volvo, but he gave it all he could. I finally went to an indie shop (in Raleigh NC) that got the axle out but said it took them over an hour to get it out. On examination of the removed axle, it appeared that the inner splines had rusted in place...absolutely no grease. The issue is to get enough PB blaster in and vibrate to break up the rust. I have seen on youtube how one guy successfully welded a slide bar (or weld the slide bar to a vice clamp and clamp it ) onto the axle shell (after removing the outer portion and wiping the grease off) and then using a slide weight to do the work. Of course this sacrifices the axle, but at this point you are committed. You can't drive the car with a broken CV joint so go for it and trust that the transmission shell can take quite a beating.
