Hey All -

Finally purchased my dream spec Volvo. Drove great on the 200+ mile ride home. Needs a few things here and there. Gave it a bath, removed some stickers, and putting a cart together at FCP. I am going to either have these Pegasus powdered gray or silver. I have a set of 17s in gray I may swap on in the mean time.

The good:
-Angle gear and sleeve changed
-Timing belt kit and water pump just done
-Clutch has been changed
-Orange calipers
-PCV has negative pressure
-Evolve DP and IPD catback
-Body is extremely clean

OCD and some maintenance needs:
-Clutch position sensor
-Coolant reservoir
-05+ power steering reservoir and line
-On coils that actually ride pretty well, but going to install 4c sensors to remove the chassis warning code
-Trans drain and fill
-Oil change and filter
-Shifter bushing

This is what I have and I absolutely love it. It even sounds better than my old HU803 (but that was probably going bad as it had some weird crackles coming out of the right D-pillar speaker that are now gone with the Android HU). I also had a Grom setup connected to it but that didn't work right as it would only play eight or so songs off my phone on random and then would stop. I'd have to restart it and it would play almost the same eight songs before stopping again. Super annoying. Not sure what the problem was. That was all in the car when I purchased it so maybe the previous owner botched the install or settings, I'm not sure. But the Android HU has been flawless, looks OEM, and I added a backup cam that works great as well.

I can't get over being jealous of this color combo, jeeeezzzz...
Great maintenance and updates. Love it. I believe I did the Continental kit...over 2 years ago.
I did all the usual stuff, water pump etc etc...
Yes - it’s all new as of a few hundred miles ago (prior to me). Wrong tensioner was used, there’s a split in 04. Going to do belt, tensioner, and roller. Aisin WP is new. 💸

Main difference between these I think my car has a microphone already from the other aftermarket unit that was in the car.

You can get that exact same one that VIVA sells on eBay from a German seller for around 45 bucks without the mic or $55 with the mic

Get this ****...so my car had a 30 pin old school ipod connector in the center console that runs off the 10 disc changer input...so I found a bluetooth module that connects to that and it works pretty flawlessly.

Love the center caps...I SHOULD do mine but haven't yet. I'm actually strongly considering my next set of aftermarket wheels again...I want something LIGHTER than the Pegs...

Ha!

I like the Pegasus lines on the Rs, but there are some good looking aftermarket wheels as well.

Next up for me will be a PLZ cheap Chinese radio from Amazon with reverse camera that I installed in my old Yukon...just not sure how it'll play with the oem system/amp.

Yeah, the aftermarket wheels I am considering are 8 pounds lighter...and I have a set on my Acura that I love so I might pull the trigger.

Just ordered:
-correct climate control for car with correct options car has, was hard to find.
-hu-803 radio in excellent shape, and side pocket.
-pen holder.
-extra wiring harness just in case.

Hopefully able to get in by this weekend.

Next up will be fixing up the interior a bit, and then shifter bushings, noncut shifter lever, and brand new oe shift knob.

Is the Harambe decal just sitting on top of the nice orange finish?
I've always cleared over decal...although a razor, a scuff and some new clear and you'll be good to go.
Love the bold color...
I want to upgrade to BBK on my Audi JUST so I can do matching yellow...such a complimentary color to blue for some reason.
When I greased the calipers and put nonstick on the pads it felt raised. I am a bit OCD, if I don’t think I can get it off I’ll have a shop who specializes in that type of stuff remove and install the “R.” There are a few high end powder coating shops that do this stuff all the time.

Should have the car tomorrow. It ended up needing more than just the belt, tensioner, and roller. The crankshaft timing gear pulley needed to be done. Replaced those bolts as well as the nut for that.

Hoping chassis code is clear as well.

Trying to get the OE radio and correct ccm installed tomorrow.

Could have purchased a nice second VR with the money I’ve spent on this R already 🤣.

Picked the car back up.
-New hood latch (came with the alarm siren kit and bumper was already off)
-New oil filter housing and oil filter
-New timing belt, tensioner, roller, crankshaft timing gear pulley, bolts, and nut

Apparently the original timing belt change, prior to Justin, the person who did it must have lost a bolt and put a non OE bolt on that was too long and hitting the belt. This is why it had shredded under Justin’s ownership, and started to under mine.

The belt was rubbing against the bolt. You get what you pay for with mechanics.

No heated seats?

Interesting. I wonder if this was originally a base sound car as well. Typically the HU-803 and accompanying hardware was bundled with the sunroof
