So, I just moved out to Erie, PA for college and I'm hoping someone can recommend a dealer or indie near here. I'm an in dire need of getting my timing belt replaced and I don't trust just any indie with my car. There is a Ford/Volvo dealer but it is mainly a Ford dealer and I guess I'm just paranoid about bringing my car there since it has been to Merrimack Street Volvo its whole life. Also, any other R guys out near Erie?

PM itwontstopsnowin. He is from Erie and owns a dealership out there. Good Luck!
Good advice , he is my new pitstop in Erie when I'm back there. Very good work . Can't comment on price since EVERYWHERE is cheaper than California :)

I live in Erie and I have taken my S60AWD to the Volvo dealer and they have always treated me well. They know I do a lot of the work myself so I think that keeps them honest. They have given me some breaks at the parts counter. I did take my R to Pennant motors (the name of itwontstopsnowin's shop, I can literally walk there from my place) and had him scan my car for me. I haven't had them do any work for me, but I would consider it, I would imagine the are better priced than the Volvo dealer.

Do you live right near his old place on 12th street? I'm right next to the airport, I need to come see your flash metallic green in person sometime :D

I didn't notice anyone responded in this thread after my last comment haha. I've got classes all week but, if you want to meet up this weekend and show the awesomeness of a wagon I'm down.

No way! I'm in the area as well and just stopped by Merrimack St Volvo the other day and talked to Bob for a little bit. What a good guy! I didn't end up with any cars from his lot, but I could tell he just wanted to steer me in the right direction. And just today, I finalized a deal for a 2005 s60r so I'll be sure to bring it by there for anything I need!

Bob is a great guy, sold our family 3 volvos actually. :) Also, I Highly recommend Merrimack Street Volvo to anyone with an R. They have treated my car right and realize that it isn't just any other S60 whenever I have brought it to them.

I'd love to offer my dealership for meets if anybody is up for planning something. I can offer free VIDA scans as well if that helps anybody out.

I don't know how many people will show considering there is only a few here in Erie but, I'd be up for it.

Just got my car back from Pennant Motors. They ran into an issue where the Ford/Volvo dealer screwed up 2 times sending cam seals, so they ended up having my car fro a week for the timing belt and cam seals. They gave a huge discount for the inconvenience (total came to $300), can't thank them enough for that. I highly recommend anyone in the Erie area to go to Pennant Motors over the Volvo dealer any day.
