Replacing front bumper grill inserts

So unfortunately what I am assuming was a rock, cracked the plastic grille insert on the front bumper of my wife's XC90.

I was lucky enough to find a used part on ebay to replace it.

Any ideas on how easy it is to remove the old one and install this part? I am really hoping I do not have to take off the bumper to do so.

Guidance would be greatly appreciated!

On my MY2018 xc90, that trim comes off without removing the front bumper cover.

This is how the opening looks like with that piece removed. There are several features around the opening that serves as interference fit against the piece you're going to replace.

And since the piece you're replacing is the one on the right side, with that rectangular opening for the tow hook, it is easy to pull out the damaged piece starting from the leverage you can get from taking the tow hook cover piece out. With the tow hook cover removed, you can pull the upper right corner piece of the damaged part like so; and note that some of the tabs are now visible.

Since you have the replacement piece, you can inspect it to see where the tabs are. That gives you an idea on where to gradually pull the damaged part from.

If you're also replacing the other side that doesn't have the two hook opening, it would help to get those plastic trim remover kit to pry pieces out without risking scratching/damaging anything else.
