Merry Xmas everyone. Food for thought. Have any of you ever thought that the rear headrest takes up too much of the rear mirror view? I wish they got rid of the left and right head rest and instead gave 3 of the CENTER headrest so that it wont interfere with my view.

Re: Rear Seat Headrests (Barents Blue)

I agree, it takes up way too much room. For the first few months I had my S40 I actually took the head rests off and threw them in the trunk. And Merry Christmas

You all don't have folding rear headrests?

Nope, the folding headrests were never an option on the S40's. I gotta say, it is very nice droping the headrests by the push of a button on the S60.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed when I got the 40. On my gf's 60 it was fun having the headrests hit my friends at the push of a button.

Not to mention easier to see out the window when no passengers...

Actually, I run with My center one raised to block the bright headlights of tailgaters who think they have to follow 10 feet off My back bumper.

Did I mention I really hate people who drive all the time with their bright lights on and tailgate?

(THIS IS ILLEGAL) i read in a forum, that will go unmentioned, that i guys put very very bright LEDs just under his bumper, and when someone would tailgate he would flash them lol. very very dangerous but kinda funny. in the pics you couldnt even see the breaklights with the anti-tailgater lights on!

I do that with my S70, I wish there was some way to block them out more... I don't have dimming mirrors.

The secret is that the center headrest can be pushed down past its lowest notch, it just wont click into place.

Since I started doing that its not been a problem for me.

Yes, the auto-dimming mirror was part of the convenience pkg, but anything bigger than a Honda CRV seems to have both headlights about dead center in My rear window.

I don't think people realize that Our little Volvo S40's can out stop anything except a 'Vette and a couple exotic Supercars.
