My original is still in use but thinking of replacing it because it has 155 thousand miles on it. I will likely buy from FCP and there are 3 to pick from. Behr, Nissens, and Original Volvo. 400 bucks VS < 200 bucks has me a bit concerned. 2 things come to mind on which one to pick. I see that some of the lesser priced ones have fitment issues, and they don't have the metal sleeve in the inlet and outlet connections.
Can these sleeves be removed from the old unit and be inserted into the new Behr or Nissens rad's? Is the original unit worth the additional money? Is the original a higher quality part? I only want to do this job 1 time and be done for good! Thoughts on this please.

Have had a Nissens on the VR for the better part of 8 years, no issues. I don't recall any details, but watched/helped some while my RIP indy did the work.

Nissens for 60k miles and 8 years. No issues. I have replaced it again with a Nissens while installing the B5244T5. For an extra $150 was worth it since the car was already taken apart.

While I am not a big fan of Chinese rad, my 2007 S60 2.5T came with Spectra CU2805, installed by the P.O. in 2016.
Nine (9) yrs later, it is still fine.

Having said that, I'd vote for Nissens, just modify it a bit to fit.

Another reason to buy Nissens, support Europe in their fight for Ukraine. China is complicit...

Likely need 2 new rad hoses too (Volvo brand only) as these hoses start to lose seal and leak at the bottom side (drop by drop)...

While not installed, I have a brand new Nissens and new OEM hoses styling in my storage unit just in case, all from FCP of course. I recall I had bought the radiator some years back because I thought I had needed one for some reason... Still on my original factory unit though. I believe outside of the OEM unit, Nissens is the preferred choice. I wish that Koyo made radiators for our cars as they make excellent units.

I wish I could grab a Valeo for reasonable $$$, 400 is pricy for the original. I don't want to modify anything to make it fit properly. I have plenty of time I think, but want it done before late September when I go up to Vermont. Having a leak would be a nightmare.
