I have to replace the R-Design emblem on the front grill, part #31322292. It's been "bleached" of color from the winter salt. I can get the entire part, and I also know I can get Dave Barton's replacement sticker. Has anyone replaced the entire part before or have any guidance to share on how to do the job? It seems to have two screws/bolts that fit behind the grill - I don't yet have a new one to look at. Of course I'd rather not have to pull the bumper or grill to do the job.

Hmmm... The part I got has two plastic sections (one is the front silver section, that holds the R-Design logo decal) and the back (that's a black plastic housing that clips onto the grill with some plastic tabs and two metal clips I couldn't figure out). I was able to separate the front and rear plastic sections on the replacement by pushing out the plastic tabs on the front section that go through the back section and hold them together. The assembly is held together only by those two tabs and centered by a central tube and plug (which doesn't secure anything place but helps locate and align the two parts). Then, using only my fingers, reaching through the grill from the front, I was able to do the same on the old one, separating the parts by popping off the front section (the back stays attached to the grill) and then I just pushed in the new front silver section. Unfortunately, the front silver section's part number, 31290666, doesn't appear to be sold separately by Volvo.

You are better off just getting a replacement sticker from Dave Barton Volvo

I just found the original thin sticker/decal (or most of it) on the garage floor. Seems to be a two-part emblem, with a metallic-colored base with underlying adhesive and a thin colored/transparent top section. I have the whole assembly AND the stickers coming. I'm sure this will happen again. [sigh]
