I have a 3in to magnaflow which I love....always wanted a dual exhaust but never had any clear info on the forums and some have been photophucked. I heard that it may potentially cause drone, idk, I don't get drone with my set up. I'd like to see underneath your cars to show my muffler guy..really want that dual and I know some clearance issues with the spare wheel section. Thanks for any input!

I have a dual exit setup on mine but it’s Y’d after the muffler just a few inches from the regular exit, this leaves very little actual exhaust flow to the passenger side but always a clean tip! There’s plenty of room for 2.5” piping back there too. My advice is to use a fairly quiet performance muffler on the drivers side and plumb a cutout actuator to a straight pipe on the passenger side for sleeper/racer mode. That’s what I’ve wanted to do anyway ... I’ll look for a pic of my plumbing but I doubt I have a good one

Nice! That's sort of what I was thinking of doing but I hear that their will always be exhaust least when running one of those cutout kits. When I first went to my muffler guy to do a dual, he recommended not to do it because he was worried about proper flow and clearance, he said he would still do it but was just suggesting a little more research. This was like a year ago. But Everytime I look at the car I want that dual. So did you go from a 3in to two 2.5s or something like that?

Here is what I have: 3" Turboback including after the Y pipe. Also straight piped until the Y pipe, followed by two MF 14419's.
Positive: It's loud af and looks bada$$! Negative: W/O a resonator like me it is incredibly droney. I'll be adding one soon as long term highway driving kills my eardrums haha!
Also worth noting, my right side(the added side) flows less than the left side. Just worth noting that both sides don't flow equal amounts of gasses.

Kris - it looks awesome! Very nice. Don't worry about flow.... that EFR7163 will take care if that it....

Would love to see a photo on a lift.

What are tips?

Started with IPD Catback which I ran out of the box for years, then got the itch to do the dual (quad tip) exhaust I always envisioned for the R so I added a Borla XR1 muffler to the passenger side. Custom fab'd welded SS pipes and some nice tips off Ebay. I installed a sport rear valance at the same time which I modified for the passenger side exhaust cut-out.

Element, everyday I realize more and more how similar our caRs are/will be 😂

Here's the muffler I used by the way and it does fit nicely under the spare tire well. I also recall removing something (rear toe hook perhaps?) and using the bolt holes for a bracket to support the passenger muffler. All in all, this setup went in very cleanly and I have no clanking or ground clearance issues. Drone is very minimal and was only slightly enhanced over the single muffler IPD setup.

Yeah I like that look too. I have similar on mine but with the blue tip. Its a love hate thing with it cuz simple polished is also nice..I'll keep those tips in mind if I don't like the dual blue tips.....the picture i posted is of the Y ...was wondering which would be best to use.

My story:

I took a brand new Volvo rear valence ($310), cut it and modified it. Used a piece of Volvo plastic cut from a junkyard p2 bumper and trimmed/molded to shape the "insert". Used flexible 3M epoxy (which is sandable) and smoothed everything. Plenty of sandable primer and off to the paint shop. It was over 20 hrs of prep work easily.

Aaron Sommer of VAST tuning (Denver, CO) did the exhaust fabwork/welding. We used 2 vibrant ultra quiet resonators as mufflers. I sourced a 2nd muffler hanger from the junkyard. The "mufflers" look low but they are actually almost a half inch higher than the lowest point of the factory pipe. This fab work was around $600 parts and labor.

I left the factory resonator, as I didn't want to change exhaust tone too much. Also, this is the stock 2.25" piping. (I'm not tuned, and the aftermarket DP I have, which isn't on the car at the moment, is a ceramic-coated Elevate 3.5" with hi-flow cat. This exhaust will allow me to add that DP to it if I want to.)

The tips are from eBay. Meant for a Camaro. $125 shipped. I then had a local laser engraving shop add the R's to the tips, for $12 each.

Not loud. No drone. Equal steam clouds in cold winter days. I love it.

Dope as hell. Looks like it came stock that way lol.. Swapboy wasn't kiddin lol. Did a great job! When you say you used a piece of Volvo plastic from a bumper..what part of the bumper? Corner curved piece I assume? Looks the right shape ..600 bucks was nothing for that set up lol [emoji1690][emoji106]

Nice, I created a template of the driver side cutout using a piece of cardboard then traced a mirror of it on the passenger side and proceeded to cut the brand new valance... a little daunting at first, but took my time with a coping saw and it worked like a charm. I didn't french in the lip like you did, but I trimmed out the lip on the driver side so it matched the newly cut passenger side. With the tips taking up the opening, you never notice the inner bottom of the valance anyway. I had a little filling/blending work, but not too much...

Love that TME setup. Wish I could find one.
