Ok folks. Just did the install on my '21 T6 Momentum plus. I have a few on ramps and highway transitions to test and there was a NOTICABLE difference in steering at speed (especially in Polestar mode). Literally no roll at all.

Ordered everything from @rileyvolvo on this forum (who we're absolutely AMAZING FYI). Install took me literally 5 minutes. It's 3 10mm bolts on each tower and then the 4 13mm bolts for the bar. I removed 2 tower bolts, bolted the new mount to one of them, then undid the 3rd bolt and swung the mount in place and snugged up all 3. Literally took like 2 minutes per tower. Once both attachments were on I put the bar in place and mounted the 4 securing bolts. Aligned the bar as best to the middle as possible and snugged them down. DONE.

One of the best bang for your buck upgrades especially if you get parts on a GREAT deal. Have at it!!!

Parts:
32207453 - Bar mount,
32207454 -Bar mount
32207448 - Bar,
987515 x 4 - 4 flange screws

Tools:
10mm socket (extension helpful)
13mm socket (bar screws)

Does anyone knows if it wil fit / work on a 2017 XC90 T6 Inscription?

Cool! Do you have the standard spring setup or air suspension? I haven't popped the hood to see if it's even possible, but wondering if there's any advantage to this with the air suspension I have on my XC60... I imagine less body/frame flex is still a plus in corners regardless of the suspension.

Installed! As you said was a piece of cake…took me 10 minutes because I dropped a bolt in the engine compartment and had to bang on the belly pan for 5 min before the bolt fell out. Don’t expect any noticeable results but will post if there are any

Yea, I’ve got it with air & 21’s. No noticeable difference but haven’t really run it hard yet.

On other vehicles where I’ve installed a strut brace (mostly older bmw’s), the biggest difference was in reduced cowl shake over bigger bumps and better/more responsive turn-in, which in turn would make the steering feel sharper. Also slightly reduced bump-steer mid-corner.

I bought the kit and will install in the next few days.

1. does anyone knows what would be the adequate torque for the 10 screws / nuts involved? (Are the any detailed instructions from Volvo which specifies the torque on the bar screws or at least on the already present nuts?)

Edited for the answer: The specified torque on the front shock absorber bearing to Body to fix the Bar Mounts, is 24 Nm

2. what would be some good maneuvers to perform before and after to better feel any differences post install?

thanks for any help.

regards,
Daniel

Your best bet would be to check the torque of the bolts that are currently in place and just match that.

Essentially any hard turning at speed will make a difference. Whether it's right hand turns or like an on-ramp or curve. You should feel the body roll reduce and there will be a little more stability while turning.

Thank you!

Did anyone use / is any thread lock recommend on the 10 nuts/bolts?

Which one?

When taking them off I measured a torque which I believe it was about 40 NM or less on the suspension bolts

I put 40NM in all bolts when tightening up all 6 of the suspension bolts and the 4 bar mount bolts.

Edited the above. The correct torque, as per Volvo specification for the front shock absorber bearing to Body to fix the Bar Mounts, is 24 Nm

Have had mine sitting in a box for 2 months and finally got it installed! I'm not usually a wrench turner and, even though this was simple, thanks to @NordstromJunkie, @dgomes and everyone else here for the instructions, pics, and info. Thanks @rileyvolvo for the sale which made this a no-brainer!

Did it in 30mins because I'm a noob ;)

I am looking at picking up a 2018-2019 XC90 and this looks like a great upgrade. Out of curiosity, is this a specific XC90 Polestar item, or repurposed from other models? I am having a hard time finding any Polestar support, aside from the Accessories on volvocars.

I did this upgrade on my 2017 xc90 T6 Momentum Plus. It was easy as everyone mentioned. It bolted up perfectly fine and with Riley Volvo's sale on Labor day, it was $239 shipped. I'll test drive the car tomorrow and see how it changes.

The left tower attach plate was on back order for over a month, but I just got it today and was able to finish the install in 10min with my impact gun.

My order was also on backorder, but now scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday. I didn't not however, get the Labor Day deal. :(

At best, the tower brace will slightly reduce cowl shake over bumps and maybe give a little better turn in. All it’s doing is reducing the chassis flex in the front end. Body roll should be unaffected, though it may feel reduced by the sharper turn in.

Still worth the money (esp on a Riley’s sale), but don’t expect anything revolutionary.
