Hi there, new V90 owner here with the B6 engine. Does anyone know if the Polestar chips will be coming for this power train? I haven’t been able to find any info on Volvo’s sites.

I factory ordered a 2022 V90CC last year with the Polestar option included. It sat at the port for a few weeks until I was informed that the Polestar option wasn't finalized for the B6, so I had them release the car without the tune. My sales rep told me that it should be available by November 2021, but that was obviously not the case. I don't even see Polestar as an available option on the Volvo configurator anymore. Below is a pic from the 2022 order guide.

This is interesting about the "dynamic effect" numbers.
Power & Torque Mid-Range max starting from rpm shown.
Original:
310
Dynamic effect:
450 (+31%)
What is Dynamic effect?
The Dynamic effect will generate up to 20 seconds of more power in the mid-range, peak power and torque. This effect is not considered or measured in the certification process.

That is a huge jump in power output. Anyone know what this "dynamic effect" is?

That 450 number is newton meters (NM) which is that is used across the pond for torque. The foot pound torque improvement is 7%.

It is the same story as before, the optimisation improves RPM range, shifting and a little on HP & torque...it makes it feel more agile but nothing impactful. Which is the reason I also decided on the piggyback I had on my T6, Racechip. That gave the car a realistic improvement that you could actually feel. There was a two second improvement from 75mph to 125mph and HP jumped about 46 whp and my best 0-60 mph was recorded at 5.45 sec...which is a nice improvement form the stock 6.1 and Polestar 6.0.
If you want to really optimise your car, I'd recommend doing both, because P* does help with the shifting points, which become an issue if you only do Racechip.
